Newegg has a better deal going, IMO. $219 AR with a free game. Being Newegg it's tax-free for most, and this one is the dual fan version. Has slightly better performance, if you are ok with the bigger version.

I have heard quite a few complaints on the msi version though.

As much as I'm a fan of a free game I detest rebates enough to miss it. Plus there isn't a title I'm dying for. Like most I have enough backlog to keep me busy for a long time.

AMD is supposed to reveal their Vega chipset soon... it should be better than the Polaris cards (RX 480/580) and seeing as how they've been pricing their hardware aggressively, it could drive prices lower across the board.

Nvidia is also releasing the GTX 2000 series cards this year... but no idea when.

I can understand that. That's why I added "IMO" to the post. If you are ok with rebates, and one of the games is one you planned on buying soon anyways, that would be the better deal overall.

Agreed. I notice that the rebate is good for the whole month (5/31) which makes me wonder if that card will also dip in price over the course of a couple of weeks making that an even better deal. It definitely feels like finally the nvidia cards are starting to move.

Newegg and Amazon reviews for this specific version seems pretty good, but that's as far as I've looked into it.

Yeah, I understand. Of course what I heard was secondhand too.
