RIDGID 16 gal. 5.0-Peak HP Wet Dry Vac - $49.88 Home Depot B&M

I was at Home Depot looking for a dryer vent cleaner when I saw this big display in front of the Pro desk. It's the Ridgid 16 gallon wet dry vac WD1640 on sale for $49.88. I checked online real quick to see reviews and price and it has great reviews and this is about 50% off since it's $100- $130 online.

A friend of mine told me he saw the display there 2 weekends ago so I'm not sure if this will be available for a while or not but it seems to have been this price for over a week now.

I took a pic and attached it for you all. This was the Home Depot off I-84 in Brewster, NY.

The WD1851 is worth every penny over this WD1640.

Yeah the capacity and power for the price are hard to beat here, but 1-7/8" hose is kind of limiting. Ridgid shop vacs are unbeatable though.

First thing I do is toss the hideous hose and plug in a Mr. Nozzle

For some reason my images won't attach. I'll try again in a different browser.

That wet dry vac is $160 which is $110 more than this one. I just wanted an inexpensive wet dry vac and for $50 this one is hard to beat.

Not a bad price!

Btw- What Dona said above about the 1851vac is in reference to the CFM rating. The 1851 vac's CFM = 200+ and this one = 115. Seems the best metric for comparing vacs is the CFM rating. See the link for a "shoot-out" review...https://holeymoleydigger.com/ridg...ison-test/

If you can get it at roughly $50, it's a good deal. My logic is this....

The parts themselves are worth about that much, and then you have a spare shop vac. The hose is worth $17-20, even if you just use it to extend a hose on another shop vac.

The filter, even if it is just a bare bones filter is worth another $15 plus

The wands (sections of pipe) are another $10 or so, at least.

Those pay for the shop vac, gives you extensions to run a longer hose if you need, etc. I've had to use extension hoses so that one hose (call it the discharge hose) runs outside a window so that in case anything gets past the filter, it gets exhausted to the exterior of your (or a customer's) home, versus blowing stuff all over the place inside.

So again, for $50, it's a deal (if you can find it). At Black Friday time, Home Depot puts one or more on sale. I like picking one up, again, just for the extra parts, and yes, a spare shop vac in case you need one at more than one location and just want to leave it there versus hauling it around.

Finally got the pic to load after trying multiple browsers and mobile device. Had to go into classic mode to get it to work.

Great price if you missed it on Black Friday.
For historical purposes - it was $40 on BF.

My UT store still has it for $99... YMMV perhaps? Anyone have luck in price matching out of state like this?
