This is a metal geared 6 qt KitchenAid mixer for a great price. Only in Bordeaux color though, free shipping!

I bought it a couple weeks ago and it is large and heavy so it should last a very long time.

Basically the differences are: 575W vs 450W motor, 6qt vs 5qt bowl, glass vs steel bowl, and different material attachments (with the 6qt attachments being arguably better).

Glass vs steel bowl is preference: you can see what's going on in the bowl if it's glass, but it's heavier and breakable. So there's pros and cons with that.

Are these differences and upgrades worth $50? If you have a large family or otherwise would be mixing larger volumes then probably yes. If you will be really working it a lot, like mixing some really tough dough or something, then probably yes. If this is not the case then maybe not.

It says 550W in the description, but picture shows 575W, weird. so this may be Pro Design 600. $249 is still decent price.

The picture makes it look like the attachments are coated. Are they coated or burnished metal? The wire whisk is stainless steel it looks like. But what about the dough hook and beater?

I bought it and the picture is right, the description is wrong. It's 575W and as the picture shows, the model name is Pro 600 Deluxe.

Comparison shopping these Kitchenaid mixers is tough because there are multiple similarly named but slightly different models with slightly different characteristics. And many of the models are not easily found on the Kitchenaid website to compare.

Thanks for the clarification, it's great deal if it's 575W model

The dough hook and beater are coated. It's almost like power coated metal if you are familiar with that. It's metal with like super incredibly hard paint or enamel coating on it.

When I get home, I'll check out the attachments and let you know for sure about them.

So they are white? Or silver?

glass bowl is terrible. heavy and breakable. offers no real advantage unless you want that look.

Ok I'm looking at them now. The whisk is uncoated metal. The other stuff is coated and the color is grey. Also, there's actually 2 beaters, one with rubber on 1 side. The picture only shows 1 beater attachment.

So, to be clear, there's 1 uncoated metal whisk, 1 coated bread attachment, 1 coated beater, and 1 coated beater that has a rubber side.

That's nice, they gave you the flex edge beater too.

Thanks for the info!

That's stainless steel.

That's burnished aluminum. It has a coating on it, but it is not nylon. The coating on the burnished aluminum will come off if you put them in the dishwasher or even if you soak them in dishwashing soap. So I would only handwash them in dilute dishwashing soap.

The attachments, other than the whisk, are definitely coated.
