Pro Tip: Turn on "Full Dynamic Range" in the settings if you're playing your Chromecast Audio stereo/receiver with full size speakers.

I think most people don't see the value of this device, and most won't unless you actually have it.

This thing is basically like a lite Sonos system. I have 2, one connected to my hifi in the living room and one connected to a portable BT player in my the kitchen. When I cast to both at the same time they play in exact unison, and I can control the volume on each right from my phone. The wifi connection is also SO much better than BT because you don't hear interruptions from phone related stuff like messages calls etc. once you start casting it keeps casting, sometimes for a LONG time. I've left the house come back hours or even a day later turned my speakers on to find they are still connected to my old cast, which is kind of nice honestly bc it doesn't hurt anything to just keep casting with the speakers off. I love this and will look for a place I can add a third speaker on the system.

I have one and I love it for the specific purpose it has... hooked to an old amplifier which is hooked to my pool/outdoor speakers. I can control music from outside, for outside listening. And it does that great.

If I didn't have that need, would I buy it? Ehhhh, not sure. Roku has a similar function, so does my Yamaha receiver.

But to turn a 1970's receiver into a MP3 playing music box? Yes!

My local store has this for the same price. I might consider picking this up but still debating. I guess the difference between this and the normal cheaper Bluetooth adapter audio options is this uses wifi instead to stream music.

I picked one of these up for $10 from Target months ago. Now it just sits in my drawer collecting dust. Glad I did not pay for price.
I hadn't been using mine at all either since I have a Nexus player with every tv in the house, but since Google Home doesn't support Android TV yet, started using the Chromecast alot more to watch Netflix via voice commands...

If any of you have iOS devices, a Mac on at home when you're home, and want them to show up as AirPlay speakers, check out cast bridge.io.

My first CCA also sat unused in a drawer for about a year before I happened upon this nifty app on Reddit about a month ago. It's awesome. Bought another CCA for another set of speakers since then for $30 at Staples. Might grab another for $25 if a local Ghettomart lowers them.

no unfortunately walmart clearance prices are done on a store by store basis. there is a chance that your local store will lower to 25 soon tho fwiw.

No they do not. the manager of a store said each Walmart gets a certain amount of money to roll back each month and they get to pick the items. If they price match another store it throws their allowance off and items they would put on clearance stay full price and take up shelf space. Thus they are not allowed to price match and the majority of employees know it.
