Best in class when it comes to phone audio playback quality.
Most consumers wouldn't think about buying this because they know they're phones can play music. Fiio caters to a certain demographic.

I'm currently using my Fiio X1 and I get sad if I have to work my shift listening through my S8.

Wow, this is almost as expensive as a ZTE Axon Pro cellphone which has best in class audio playback for a phone. I wonder if this is any better than an Axon Pro and if so, if anyone could actually hear the difference. You are getting a full fledged cellphone when you buy an Axon Pro too...

Here's a link talking about its capabilities: http://www.androidauthority.com/a...io-626925/

Bullshit for incompetent users. My friend has ZTE Axon 7 Mini, equipped with the same DAC as Axon Pro - AK4961+AK4490 and it sounds tiny and veiled compared to my LeTV One Pro (X800, Chinese version), using Sabre 9018 (ES9018Q2C). That means Axon lacks transparency and amplification compared to LeTV One Pro.
The audio quality depends not only on the used DAC, but on the amplification and power supply. Cellphones cannot have by notion powerful amplification and 7.2-12-15V power supply, as most dedicated serious players do.
I estimate DAC-equipped Axon phones to be a little better than Fiio X1/xDuoo X3, that is 100$ dedicated players. The best phone I've heard, LeTV X800 is close to Fiio X3-II, but still less powerful on high loads and doesn't have Line-Out and DAC function.

X5-II is a powerhouse, especially at $175 - it kicks any other competitor out of scene.

very slick deal!

I have the fiiox5 I assume is the gen 1? it has the more ovalish buttons. I never leave home without it.

I keep my music separate from my phone, and don't mess with itunes.

Do you happen to know where can I get just a sample music to test out if an audio player is good? I don't seem to able to distinguish the different with my google music or amazon music. Thanks in advance!
