I've never purchased this brand before but I've gotten something similar and it worked great. For only $10 seems like it'd be worth a shot.

My laptop has 10 /100 ethernaet LAN .And the wifi is no better at 802.11/n ...Will dongles like this and an ethernet 1GB netowrk LAN adapter "upgrade" my laptop to use my 1GB internet speed? Or is there other issues that will prevent my laptop from receiving faster speeds? I have an old asus r541u and it never gets used due to the POS won't get speeds above 100. Any help before I try this out would be awesome.

I believe these upgrades will allow your PC 2 acheive the 1GB internet speeds ( theoretically ) if that is what you receive through ur ISP .

Yea we just upgraded to the 1GB Fios...Thank you, i'm in for 1. + ordered a LAN ethernet adapter. All together $25.74 for both...not too shabby to make the thing tolerable. Even if it gives double of what I get now, it will be worth it...I'll leave a comment on the quality when it arrives. Thanks

No.

The max speed listed on this dongle is 600Mbps so the fastest it will get is 600Mbps (but in reality probably slower). To get 1Gb your laptop would need a 10/100/1000 ethernet LAN and plug directly into a Router that is capable of 1Gb AND your internet provider would need to be sending you 1Gb down the line as well.

I don't know if there is a WiFi dongle that can do 1Gb (yet?).

I'm really just making sure it will "upgrade" the speeds to anything better than the 90 - I'm getting now. Reaching the 1GB is not needed, and I know with wifi I'll never receive that kind of speed regardless. My question was just to make sure that the adapters would work.

It's even worse than that. This is USB 2.0, so that's the bottleneck. It has a theoretical max speed of 480Mbps, but hardly anything reaches the max speed for very long. This will probably steadily hover near 300Mbps at most, which is worse than the built-in 802.11n adapter he has.
