This deal is also available at Amazon from a 3rd party seller. Apparently my post was edited to remove this because "the seller doesn't meet feedback requirements." Except it's a prime item handled by amazon and they have 574 positive reviews. I'm thinking it's more likely that the amazon seller "doesn't meet revenue sharing requirements" for slickdeals. I won't link it to respect their request but the info should be available as it's a better deal there likely.

if this is true then SD needs to be transparent with their userbase and have an open discussion. I will not be part of a community that is making someone else rich while that someone is abusing the community.

Agree, I've been getting disappointed with SD recently, many recent FP deals aren't as good as they used to be.

Here's the edit reason: Last edited by MLx3; Today at 11:42 AM.. Reason: removed amazon link - seller doesn't meet feedback requirements

I went to amazon to see if it was one of those newly created ones and they're been around about 12 months with 100% feedback and 574 feedback left. It's a prime item so it's stocked by amazon so you're guaranteed to get it if you order. I really don't understand what doesn't meet their requirements. That's solid enough for me to buy and I'm pretty picky.

I don't really see any loops that you could connect to on it to lock it to a bike rack that couldn't be stolen. The handlebar is removable pretty easily which would make quick work for a thief. Mainly a keep with you type item in my estimation.

By 3rd-party seller, you mean Segway itself. SDONA is Segway. I have three of these (two I bought last year), and they're brilliant.

Thanks for clarifying had no idea that was the manufacturer! Didn't recognize that abbreviation.

Edit: I also have one and it's a lot of fun. Definitely gets looks anywhere you go too.

I was honestly wondering what happened to that post. I was trying to click on it on the front page and it kept taking me back to the front page. Though it is frustrating. Maybe it's to keep themselves safe, maybe it's for revenue sharing purposes, we can't really know. I guess if you REALLY don't like it you can try some of the others (fatwall3t, d3aln3s, 3bat3s, etc.), but Slickdeals is still by far the best one when it comes to overall deals and community. I think the only bad thing about SD is how massive it has become which makes it more difficult to get your hands on the good deals.

back to the item though, good price and sams is nice. too bad costco doesn't sell the item cause I don't have a sams near me. Is it worth the price though? to those that own them, what do you use it for and have you ever had issues with police/security? I live in DC and feel I would be hassled about it lol

They do have a Kensington Lock port although it is reported that it is too deep for an actual Kensington Lock (You know the ones for that port on your laptop) unless a little modification is done. Otherwise, there is no secure way to hook a lock to it. There's an app lock feature but doesn't prevent someone from picking it up and running away (while it beeps and shakes).
I've had no problems with wheeling mine into a restaurant or store either by turning it off and dragging by the extendable handle or guiding while still on. It tracks nicely next to you like an obedient puppy.

Ah.... where have you guys been? SD has always been about making SD money, not saving you money. You aren't a SD customer, you are the product. SD sells you to it's real customers.

How does this Segway compare to scooters like Ecoreco?

I preordered the new type R, but they have delays. I was originally supposed to get Ecoreco in April. I am thinking about getting this and canceling the scooter.
