This unit doesn't work as well as previous model. It sucks in air from the back and sends it out the side - old model sucks in air from the front and out the top. So you can't put the new model against a wall. Also it has the hokey adapter for continuous drain that didn't work well - some water kept flowing into the bucket AND down the hose. I was able to find the old model and it provides much better dehumidification due to sensible airflow, and NO water in the bucket when using continuous drain.

This price is rigged up. Go to Costco and buy the Whirlpool one. Better price and better quality

I was debating between this and the Whirlpool. Why do you say it's better? The reviews on this unit are stellar.

from what I have seen in past ... they all go bad if not used properly. it seems draining water is very important as corrosion around coils leads to leaks

I own this one and it is awesome! review above is somewhat correct about the sensor but having owned several units like this I can say they all suffer that issue.
As for the costco one I went and looked and it has 3 reviews and 2.3 stars.
This model is #1 bestseller for dehumidifiers on Amazon with over 3000 reviews and 4.4 stars and is $240 there to boot.

I believe I paid $230 for mine. I bought it after a recall a few years back on the one I had bought at Lowes forced me into a new one.
