What do you think.....free ship to store, and hope they match the lowest price?
30 miles and a $15 toll makes it a no go, and the 3 closer wally's are out of stock.

Are you referring to the 700cc hyper Road bike? I'd keep that one if you were able to get it! Depends on your need really. This is an aluminum frame fat tire mountain bike. The road bike is slimmer and lighter for road use.

This thing is going to weigh a ton and be rubbish for dependability. Pick up a used, entry level bike with front suspension, only. Even then, expect to only use on groomed double trails.

A respectable full squishy is going to set you back ten times this price... This is marketing garbage. And you should never need a full suspension for the types of trails you'd be riding. Do yourself a favor and get a lighter, better built bike - you'll enjoy the experience much more.

I agree it's not a trail bike by any means, but it's also $79 and not $790. Think Ford Ranger vs a Jeep Rubicon lol.

What's a good new Mountain Bike in the $400 range? Mostly for bike path nothing hard core. Not dealing with used/craigslist.

I'd have to disagree. This uses components I would never trust. Ever. Even on a paved path.

I have nice bikes, and know not everyone would get the value out of them, or need that level of bike, but there is no way I would ride this. Just keeping it in working condition would be a nightmare.

I wouldn't be surprised if this thing pushes 50 pounds. Biking just isn't enjoyable on something like this.

Again, just my opinion. I'd rather have a lightly used entry level bike. If you're going to use this once or twice a year, I guess it could be ok. But, even then, I wouldn't be getting in the saddle expecting it to work.

Look at entry level treks /Canondales/etc. At that level, you won't be taking single track, but they'll be fine for crushed limestone/gravel/etc. Go for hybrid style models... A "mountain bike" is going to be out of your price range.

Bike shops should have a few models you can play with. At that price point, just make sure you're fitted properly. You're not going to get great components, but at least you'll have a bike that is lighter, more durable and be comfortable. If you end up riding more, you can always upgrade.
