Noticed from an e-blast that Newegg has the IOGEAR KeyMander GE1337P on sale for $50 free shipping with promo code EMCRFRK59. This is 50% off the MSRP plus you get a free gaming headset with purchase. Others have just the KeyMander in the mid-80's range, so this deal is still around 40% off market price and you also get a free gaming headset valued at 29.99 to sweeten the deal. The KeyMander adapter enables using a keyboard and mouse in place of game console controller. The promo ends on Monday 5/15/17.

I gave up PC gaming for console gaming awhile back.

The game pad keeps the playing field level for consoles.

Having mouse support on a console would absolutely push me away from multiplayer gaming for good.
This already exists through Xim4, Hori, etc. just enjoy the games and don't get too caught up in KDR.

Do you need this to use a keyboard and mouse in the menu screens?

I don't like typing using the controller and a mouse would be great for the home menus.

Mouse support, no. But keyboards are supported on PS4. Not sure about Xbox. But just get yourself a nice small Bluetooth keyboard and use that to type away in menus. Works great.

Forgive ignorance, but how is this different than a regular usb hub that would allow plugging in a keyboard and/or mouse? I has a mouse on my PS3 for a long time and it was just plugged into the usb port with no schmancy adapter.

Support now is for menus and typing only. This allows you to play games with a keyboard and mouse instead of the thumb sticks.

These are a violation of the ToS. If you can get the controls dialed in you'd wreck controller players.

I know the xim4 has a speed limitation so keep that in mind. It will only let you move the sight as fast as a controller can. If you're used to a really high dpi on a pc you may have to adjust your playing style.

The XBox one supports a USB keyboard for all typing - it is wonderful for entering codes, and messaging. I use a logitech keyboard that is wireless - it comes with a USB wireless adapter.

The XBox does NOT support bluetooth keyboards, even with a bluetooth dongle, as far as I know. It also doesn't support a mouse for any purpose, as far as I know.

The PS4 supports bluetooth keyboards, without need of an adapter; any bluetooth keyboard I believe. This keyboard works well so far for me. I could type faster on a full size keyboard, but this is easier to keep under the couch, and is large enough to touch type on.

The device in this thread is for those who want to use a keyboard and mouse instead of a controller, while playing games.

Keyboard and mouse on consoles are banned by Blizzard for use with Overwatch. Not sure how much that pertains to the actual point you were making though.

I just don't get why you would want to do this. If you bought a console isn't that the sign you don't want to use keyboard and mouse.
