One of the most unstable VPNs I've used. Bought over a year ago - yep, via Stacksocial.

- Inconsistent connection
- if you are using this to watch Netflix while you are traveling outside of the US, be aware that it doesn't work for Netflix and may get an unreliable experience with Hulu
- I could be wrong here but for some reason you get the feeling like it is throttled (perhaps VPN unlimited will say otherwise, and there is no reliable way to verify)

Just my experience/feedback. Hope it helps. And hope the others who do buy this promo, get a better experience.

Would have left this feedback on the StackSocial website (on the VPN Unlimited page). But more than a year back StackSocial removed the ability to leave reviews. It seems that VPN Unlimited and StackSocial aren't owned by the same people, so this feedback is about StackSocial.

At least to me, since removing the ability to add customer reviews, more seemingly low quality deals have been introduced on the site. The initial couple of years StackSocial "allowed" customer reviews and discussion. But since removing this ability , this in itself is a coward move. But, once again, this is just my opinion -- just adding it to the conversation.

Thanks for this review. I was just doing some research after seeing this deal. I was about to purchase a 2yr PIA deal and of course this price seemed slick.

As much as I like a deal, one has to wonder how cheap lifetime subs can provide enough revenue to maintain ever-increasing hardware budgets/requirements.

Two good ones that work fine for me are-

https://stacksocial.com/sales/lif...8e6322db28

and

https://stacksocial.com/sales/vpn...lifetime-3

Also read reviews on any VPN before purchase, although many are outdated. Be sure to read actual user reviews too.

Here is a good place to start. Just search for the VPN name in the upper/right corner using the magnifying glass icon:

Yes, there tends to be quite a number of outdated comments/reviews on numerous VPN-related forums, even on BestVPN.com. Though I believe it is still an OK website to do some cross referencing and comparisons (via forum comments) on providers that have been around for years -- you can compare the reviews they received from their early years of providing their VPN service till the more recent years. 👍

You're welcome. I just don't like the idea that someone is going to spend 20, 30 or 50 bucks on a service that is marketed to offer all these wonderful features/whatever but in reality they end up getting a horrible product or experience.

I have used PIA. I used them for 3 years. They were good. They were even better the first year I used them, because I could watch Netflix via PIA while traveling. But Netflix has been aggressively blocking VPNs, and PIA was one of them. And after another year or so, I terminated my account with PIA. In fact I had another 7 months left on my subscription, but PIA wasn't helping with my Netflix issues, so I just stopped using them and let my PIA subscription lapse.

Personally, as a VPN in general, they are pretty stable. But maaaaaan, their web user interface is pretty challenging to navigate. Not complex, but not intuitive. Slows you dont when you want to change your proxy IP setting, or reset your account settings, or even to get to the settings section. It's like the front-end web design person they hired, time-travelled from 1999 and to 2013 to take a job opening with PIA. :\

Get a good VPN service. Express VPN works amazing for me, I go abroad a lot, I just recently went to Mexico and Express VPN worked wonders for using services like slingtv and PlayStation now, Netflix etc. it also keeps my info safe while traveling.
