You need to at least at YMMV to the title since it seems one of the main criteria (already having a child profile) isn't enough to qualify.

So I created a child profile. Then it said Congrats! please enjoy the below offers.

And the gift card deal was listed. I clicked on it and it said I was not eligible for this offer.

That's just wrong

I just got an email from Amazon on this, and used it successfully. Here are more of the terms:

In order to qualify for the promotional credit, you must:
(1) be an Amazon.com Prime member and have a Child profile on your account;
(2) have not purchased an Amazon.com Gift Card within the last 3 years on your Amazon.com Prime account holding the Child profile;
(3) purchase at least $50 in Amazon.com Gift Cards in a single order at Amazon.com between May 1st, 2017, and May 22nd, 2017, 11:59:59 PM (PT) using the Amazon.com Prime account holding the Child profile;
(4) enter the promotional code "0517AMZFAM" in the "Gift Cards & Promotional Codes" box when you check out, or alternatively click the button above to automatically add the promotional code to your account.

That sounds like the major factor for most then.

Not only did it work for me I sent the email to myself and it added to the same account I bought it from. So a free $15 for me. Lots of TD's from people that can't replicate it but I'm sure it's because they don't qualify. Oh well, TU and thanks from me.

Just a follow up:

Thank you for purchasing from Amazon.com.
Your recent order xxx-xxxxxxxx-xxxxx entitles you to a promotional credit which we have added to your account. This credit can be applied to your next qualifying purchase.
Promotion details: Thank you for treating someone to an Amazon.com Gift Card. Now we're treating you to a $15 promotional code automatically applied to your account, and good for eligible products sold by Amazon.com.

Less then 24 hours. Thanks again OP.
