Osprey Farpoint 40L travel backpack for $90 free ship & no tax (in CA) on ebags.com

ebags.com is selling this very highly rated travel backpack for $110 after code 'SAVE48HRS' ($160 - $50).
Red or light blue colors only ones in stock, the nicer dark gray is sold out until June. This 40L bag (or 38L for s/m size) is the maximum size for carry-on on MOST airlines so very convenient. Also, Osprey has a legit lifetime warranty.

There is currently a SD on the slightly larger Osprey Porter 46 backpack for $95 at REI which is also a good price but this pack is more sturdy & comfortable so better option if you will be carrying it longer. There was also a Frontpage deal for this S/M size pack for $95 last month but this one has both sizes (S/M and M/L) and slightly cheaper if you don' t mind the cashback inconvenience.

I have red one, it's not bad at all, it's a darker red, not in your face red.

I bought the red one. I already have the dark grey one (in a 40 s/m and 55) which would have a been a better option since you wouldn't stand out as much - always a good thing as a tourist. But for 45% off MSRP, I'll settle for red.

BLAH, no grey, red doesn't come in S/M (would have bit). Blue is BUTT-ugly. Stupid ebags and their crappy inventory. Disappointed.

i would have got the red too as a backup bag. i like the compression wings of this bag, makes bag sleek / compact, but i dont like the placment of the water bottle pockets they become useless releative to the compression belts, so some bags run the belt at a 45 degree angle. i like the suspension system for this being a travel bag no doubt. i just wished this year they redesigned all their bags to sit the laptop pocket closest to your back, not furthest away as they imho and other site reviews have, wondered about.

Agree with needing a better laptop pocket location but assume it can't be right behind back because then it'll be too inconvenient to remove when going through TSA security.

It's $110 after the code and not $90. If you are referring to using a cashback shopping portal then you should mention it in detail. Either way the title is misleading.

So...what's the diff between the sizing? I'm a muscular build male (if that makes any diff) and want this for plane travel in August and October.

Size depends on torso length. Normally a person 5'6" tall and under get the smaller version, above that gets the bigger one. The ebags code (for $50 off $150) ends today I believe, so if interested in this bag, you have just a few hours. With the cashback, this is the lowest price for this pack in a long time.

actually the most current designs are the packpack unzips and splits like a clam shell. oneside is just the laptop and the shoulder straps, the other side is the backpack compartment. I've seen the best bags of this form, even shield (for privacy) the backpack compartment half, when the bag is split like this during TSA security.

There's another current thread about one of the osprey bags redesigned for2017 through REI only (perhaps for now or thi year) and they moved the laptopcompartment against the person's bag (but I dunno if the backpack side has a cover).

people have had screens crack with the osprey having the laptop / tablet pocket toward the front of the package.

Buying this as a Go Bag. Now just gotta get the rest of my survival gear.
Act* Jnky gave 18%CB and $10 bonus (refer a friend). Site payout is every 90 days, the next will be Current Payout: 8/7/2017.

So, $80.20 in the end. Not bad. Thanks!

Please, any tips are appreciated. This is just the one for the trunk. I'm still deciding on a larger one for the house when it's showtime.
