FreedomPop Premium Voice at 99 cents???

-10 Deal Score
8,341 Views
FreedomPop is advertising this:

"Get FreedomPop Premium Voice for the rest of your billing cycle at zero cost. After your free trial ends your credit card will be charged the $0.99 monthly fee. You can cancel anytime by contacting customer support."

The problem is that Premium Voice is ONLY available on the BYOD Sprint plans, NOT on the AT&T or the Global plan sims.
BUT when you try to activate it on the Sprint plans it doesn't work. It just shows the old $3.99/mo price.
Perhaps, the FreedomPop guy here can fix this issue.

Yes, it's free for the first month BUT after that the regular price will be ONLY 99 cents/mo.

"Get FreedomPop Premium Voice for the rest of your billing cycle at zero cost. After your free trial ends your credit card will be charged the $0.99 monthly fee. You can cancel anytime by contacting customer support."

The problem is that it doesn't work where it SHOULD work: on the Sprint BYOD plans.

I think I will stick with Hangouts.
You can only get 200 minutes a month with FreedomPop Premium Voice.
FreedomPop app also is a battery killer.

Still for only 99 cents for the 200 mins it would be nice to have the Premium Voice which is really a direct-to-Sprint true cell call voice connection, NOT a VOIP connection like the regular FreedomPop voice or Hangouts voice.

The link provided is for the UK. For the Three SIM's sold abroad. The LTE SIM and Global SIM are not provisioned for Voice and the plans/services are different for Sprint devices.

For Premium Voice, you could also just not have the FP Messaging application installed since you'd have native calling. It would be useful as native minutes in that case.

Can someone confirm that you don't need FP app if you have Premium Voice?

I setup a new phone just a few hours ago--came with the obligatory 2gb + premium voice trials. I made a quick call after activating and it went through... and I did not have the FP app installed.

Darn right--if that's their new price, I'll gladly pay $12 a year for the service, even if it's only for outgoing calls in bad areas. Through your link I am seeing the $0.99 monthly blurb, but within services they're charging $3.99... so hopefully they get this straightened out.

Guys, this isn't 99 cents - this is through the UK site for 99p (British currency). This probably isn't meant for US users, and I don't trust FP to charge people correctly even in their domestic US site.

Pricing is clearly in dollars and not pounds, though you're right about it seemingly being tailored to the UK audience. Removing the "uk." brings up a www.freedompop.com link to the same promo. Same terms and pricing. Still doesn't work.

OP, how did you get that link? A google search of it pulls up nothing.

The price is literally listed as 99p, not cents. P isn't for pennies, it's UK pence.

Picture attached. I resided in the UK for a time--I believe I'm capable of telling the difference between US and UK currency.

This is not what you think it is. This is the U.K. Version of the service which costs 99p, it doesn't attach to USA accounts. Also anyone who clicked that link needs to go to us.freedompop.com to get off the U.K. Site. Otherwise they will not be able to use USA offers

He's right. You also need to go to us.freedompop.com to get off the U.K. Site.
