If you have the SKU, go to this walmart link [walmart.com] to check inventory in all the nearby stores. It even says which Aisle it is in. Better showing their own site instead of Brickseek.
Both U1 and U3 versions seem to have combined inventory. So if brickseek/walmart shows stock and you cant find it that is one possibility. U1 is on clearance and U3 is normal price.

Has been on sale for over a month so many stores are out of stock.

here's a tip on how to get an employee to cough up one these elusive cards:

if the employee is withholding the card, he is likely doing so without the knowledge of management. find a store manager or customer service manager and have them call on the employee to find and retrieve the card for you. just take the walmart sku or the upc to the customer service desk and have them look up the item to see if they have any in stock.

you want your conversation to go something like this?

"hello, i need help finding a particular item, can you tell me if you sell this item?"
"yes sir, our system is showing 10 in stock. let me see what i can do."
"excellent, can you call the right person and have them get the item for me please? i have no idea where to find it in the big store, can you please provide me with assistance?"
"hello peters, the system is showing samsung microsd card 128gb with 10 in stock. can you grab a couple of them and hold them for a customer i'm about to send back to you?"
"thank you mr manager, i'll go see peters in the photo department."
....
"here you go sir, i didn't find 10 but i did find 2 for you, how's that?" Wink

this is not how you want your conversation to go:

"hello peters, do you have samsung microsd 128gb cards?"
"no sir, we don't carry those."
"but i have it pulled up in brickseek, it says you have 10 in stock?"
"sir sometimes those systems are wrong, they're not very accurate and walmart doesn't use brickseek. we probably sold out of those cards last month. it takes time for them to update their systems."
"but even walmart.com says you have them."
"we don't carry samsung brand but we have a bunch of sandisk microsd cards right here for you, what size are you looking for?"
"i don't want sandisk, i want the samsung."
"sir just because you have a samsung mobile phone doesn't mean you have to use a samsung microsd card, the sandisk will work just fine. they are $59.95 each, how many do you need?"
"can you please call your manager over?"
"let me check our system. hmmmm, it's showing none in stock. maybe you can check back next week since we get regular shipments?"

it is possible the cards are nowhere to be found, unavailable, or the employees can't find them...which is fine if it's true. what i am unhappy with is being lied to or given the run around by employees that are:

1.keeping the cards for themselves to buy and re-sell.
2.holding them for their friends and family or for whomever they feel like selling to.
3.too stupid or too ignorant to help a customer find what they are looking for.
*4.intentionally blocking you because they know what you are after and they don't believe it's right what you are doing.

*this is the worse

Total waste of time. Major reposting on this. Went to over 3 stores ... 1 BS saying had over 20, another with 10 and another 5. Ended up with zero. Not a single one to be found. Even had employees looking. Brickseek is serious ymmv.

Are these usually not behind the counter/locked up? Every time I've checked my local Wallyworld for this, they say they're out... even with Brickseek showing numbers.

Is there anything else I should know - besides it being YMMV? Please and thank you

Same to my local Walmart stores also. Actually I think Associate always grabbed these things for themselves.

These are a ghost chase for most of us. Some managed to find them in-stock at this price last time, but any store with substantial stock wouldn't match the price of a store special.

these were not locked up at my local store. they were hanging with phone accessories. they could possibly be moved to a designated clearance section OR put in a bin in the back if it's "deleted" from their system. if they say it's deleted, good luck getting an associate to go back there to find it.

In my case, I always able to get Target's YMMV deal but for Walmart didn't any.
