Been diamond for a few years. I assume a shitty night somewhere is 30k; a reasonable one is 40k and a flexible date beach resort is 50k. I rarely pay over 56k per night because a) I always do a 5th night free so average points per night goes down and b) I use the flexible date search to get the lower points per night - which has been valuable for stays in Hawaii, French Polynesia and Mexico. Literally changing your search by a day can make a difference. What I get per week in earnings can diff by hotel- I stay at all the brands all the time. Even with hampton inn I was close to 25k a week with 4 nights; which is close to 1 night. Stayed at w. Astoria in Florida and got same amount of points in two nights but the room rate was less than double. I think the promotion was better for me this time because I am diamond.

For stays of 4 nights or more which are paid, consider using Citi prestige 4th night free benefit. Rather than a hotel credit card- it always works out better. You still get the hotel points and also the Citi points. Then you get the 4 night free on top.

Thanks OP, and repped. I was wondering why my last stay had so few points - the old promo expired. Hilton does a crappy job of advertising their promos. Had a 4-night stay last week that would have qualified for this one

I know it depends on nightly rate, but how do the numbers work out. With triple points: 22 nights at $300? And 200K is about 10 free nights?

New to HHonors workings. Just trying to nail down the real world value of their program.

I have trouble finding hotels for less than 40k per night. Hilton has really watered down the value of the points, which is probably why you can earn so many so quickly

I signed up a day after I checked out and managed to get the points. I remember doing the same thing a couple of years ago and I didn't get them.
