apparently I need more coffee, but how did you use this deal before? Are you using multiple identities? Will the offer be good for someone who has a "household"card but wasn't an actual member, as far as the "new membership" requirement?

So, a $55 one year membership costs $45? How is this a SD?

If you are looking to be a Costco member, you will not find much better a deal outside employee benefit packages. Costco just does not do the same larger recruitment drives Sam's does.

With the fact that membership is about to jump $5, getting $10 off plus free items and discounted items, it's a pretty slick deal IMO. (My coupon book gave me a large free dish soap that will last me probably a year, 12 free bagels, free beef strips, $6 off their Kirkland protein bars making them $11.99 for 20, and many others.)

I need to know this too. It's time for me to renew but if my girlfriend who has a household card counts as new member then we'll do that.

If the link doesn't work you can search Google for "costco membership" and click the citi ad.

Adding this important note for existing costco members:
Offer not valid for renewal of an existing Costco membership. Costco Cash Card Offer expires 5/31/2017.

Costco is always looking for ways to reward its members. That's why now through May 31, 2017, you will receive a Costco Cash Card when you purchase a new Costco Membership.
Gold Star Members – receive a $10 Costco Cash Card
Executive Members – receive a $20 Costco Cash Card
Join the 88 million Costco members who've already said yes to shopping smarter with low everyday prices on quality brand-name products and exclusive member services.Offer expires May 31, 2017.Costco Cash Card only good at Costco.

*To redeem this offer, click "Join Today" to purchase a Membership Activation Certificate (MAC). Then print and present the MAC at any U.S. or Puerto Rico Costco location to join as a new member.

Offer is valid only for nonmembers for their first year of membership. Limit one offer per household. Offer is nontransferable and may not be combined with any other offer or coupon. You must join in person with a Costco representative. Costco Cash Cards are not redeemable for cash.

A Costco membership is $55 a year. An Executive Membership is an additional $55 upgrade fee a year. Each membership includes one free Household Card. Please include sales tax in all applicable states.

Costco accepts all Visa® cards as well as Costco credit cards, cash, checks, debit/ATM cards, EBT and Costco Cash Cards.

*No coupons, no extras only what was originally posted $10 or $20 CostCo cash card (store credit).

We usually swap back and forth between the two of us being the Primary as they give you a primary and secondary card and the primary is the "existing registered account holder". The credit union most years will send an offer of the $10 off with a coupon pack (as Groupon sometimes offers it for) instead of paying full price with $10 store credit.

I tried doing a swap last year and it didn't work for me.

Also, quick question would this count if you "upgrade" from gold to executive?

because Costco memberships are rarely discounted. maybe once a year there is an offer, and I think this is the first time I've seen an offer this year. that and their membership fees are going up

almost 20% off (if you look at it that way) is nothing to snooze at

Yup same here. I got mine from one of those deal sites too so it's expiring end of this month. This one seems to be the best one so far
