Itching to pull the trigger but have to wonder how much costco will be selling this for daily.

P-Series is a step up from this I believe, though it's minor. Currently the P65-C1 are going for about $1500, is the tablet and mild quality bump worth $300?

That same tablet comes with this M-Series as well. However, I'd pay the extra $300 to get a true 10-Bit color panel in the P-Series for real HDR10 & Dolby Vision playback. The M-Series, although a really good TV set does not have a true 10-Bit color panel, it's 8-Bit color panel with 10-Bit processing, not the same.

This 2017 model does not come with a tablet remote. It comes with an IR remote and you can cast from any chromecast compatible apps on your own devices, but no longer includes a tablet remote. I personally consider this an upgrade as I found the connection between the tablet and tv was inconsistent and the lack of a physical remote and on screen menus was frustrating at times.

I'm a little confused... the 2016 model (M65-D0) has a 240Hz effective refresh rate and 5 HDMI ports. This model (M65-E0) has a 120Hz refresh rate and 4 HDMI ports. Wouldn't the 2016 model be a better buy?

Depends on what you value more I guess. The 2017 M series is rumored to have doubled the brightness output and included wide color gamut, though I guess we'll see when reviews are actually available online.

Also 2017 M series reduced local dimming zones to 32 on this model I believe, so some might see that as a downgrade as well.

My bad, I thought this was the 2016 model. But does it have a true 10-Bit color panel or is the 2017 M-Series the same as last year's model?

Probably, plus last year's model comes with the tablet, which may or may not be a good thing depending on who you are. I myself would not buy any 4K UHD TV unless it has a true 10-Bit color panel for real HDR10 & Dolby Vision playback. To me, true HDR is a bigger improvement in picture quality than 4K alone.

Hell yeah that's a downgrade. 32 is nothing, it should'be double from last year's model, so 128.

Literally just bought a 2016 65" m series from costco for $1150. Should I return and buy this instead?

The 2017 is going to be much brighter and have a wider color gamut but the 2016 models are also very good and received excellent reviews everywhere. I think the biggest complaint about the 2016 model was the brightness and they don't do as well in brightly lit rooms.

I would, but as mentioned above be aware of the trade offs:

2017 vs 2016:

- No reviews online yet
- 32 local dimming zones vs 64
- Brighter output vs dimmer light output
- Wide color gamut (possible true 10 bit panel, we aren't sure yet) in 2017 model
- No tablet remote, 4 HDMI inputs vs 5 HDMI, possible refresh rate differences (240hz vs 120hz)

I may stop by my local Best Buy and see if they have a 2017 M series on display yet, I'd be curious to view it side by side with some of the other Samsung sets (even if it is a brightly lit uncontrolled environment)

Does anyone know where/if we can see one on display at a local B&M store yet?
