I'm not sure what the other person's issue was, but the saw it's only 5 1/2" with a maximum cut depth of 1 9/16". That should be 1/16" deeper than a 2x4, but when my friend brought his over we couldn't cut all the way through our 2x4. That wouldn't have been an issue with a 6 1/2" circular saw.

Also, the saws chew through the 1.5 Ah batteries that come with the kit. You'll want to invest in 4.0 Ah ones if you use them often.

Your logic of deducing who someone voted for based on whether or not they can get the 11% rebate is dumbfounding.

The Home Depot rebate is to compete with the current Menards rebate and is thus only available to people who shop at Home Depots in markets with competing Menards stores.

Just wanted to chime in for people who are thinking about pulling the trigger:

It's a great set of tools (minus the circular saw) once you upgrade the blades (all of the blades that come with it are trash). I used this set to build a tiny house as well as some light construction projects around the house.

Like others have said, circular saw can barely cut through 2x4's because of the blade depth and the laser sight sucks, so I'd either flip it or keep it for precision work and buy a 6 1/2 saw with a Diablo blade and a 4ah battery, because circular saws use a lot of power and you'll be changing out the battery faster than it can charge with regular use.

Multitool is by far the handiest tool here, found myself using it much more than I thought I would. Invest in a set of bosch carbide blades for it.

Thought I'd have to wait a couple more weeks for this, but this is perfect timing. Thanks. Smilie

Just curious, will Ryobi Nation run same promo deals as they did last year - buy this set for $199 and get 50% off bare tool?

Bought this last year. Love it. Weak parts are the circular saw and drill. Love the impact driver. Save yourself some frustration and get the 2-pack of the bigger batteries.

What's wrong with the circular saw?

This comes with the larger batteries, doesn't it? It says they are Lithium+ vs "Lithium-ion" in the other deal on the front page [homedepot.com]

These batteries are only 1.5 Ah, and thus won't last long when used with the saws. The larger batteries are 4 Ah and last considerably longer.

I 100% believe, but for future reference, how can you tell? The only distinction I see on the page is that they are Lithium+ (vs non-plus), no mention of 1.5 Ah vs 4 Ah.

Just relying on reviews?

I bought this kit during the last promotion. I have used every single tool multiple times and have very much enjoyed my purchase. I have used the circular saw with the blade that comes with it to cut through some 2x6's and 2x4's. I haven't had a problem as long as you go a little slow. It does eat through batteries. Also i had to do some 45 degree cuts in the 2x6's and it wasnt able to cut all the way through, I just finished it off with the saws all.

Yeah, they should really specify the batteries included in the online description. Otherwise you have to look at the kit in person or check the QA and Reviews sections.

The Lithium+ batteries are included. The High capacity Lithium+ are the 4 Ah batteries
