I like this reel too bad I don't need another one. I'd recommend this to anyone on the fence.

Is longer rod the better?

I wen fishing at the Redondo pier few months ago. My fishing rod was only 6ft and the guy next to me, much longer rod so he throw further than me and he got more fishes.

Once in a while, I only go with friends fishing at piers

Good deal on a decent travel setup. Picked up 6'6L for trout fishing and a 8'6 for some surf fishing here in San Diego.

Newb here, can you do deep sea with this? Fishing bachelor party next month and I know nothing about fishing. Bachelor boy is hardcore angular with carbon gears and crap lol

EDIT: Forgot to add in the details, we're chartering a boat out of San Diego but according to the best man (horrible planner IMO lol) rods and license are not included.

Generally speaking, longer the rod the further the cast.
