Been watching the Walmart vs. Amazon price war on the PW31 since the start of this month and $244.50 is the lowest price it has ever been with local pickup. Price has remained stagnant for 4 days, but I did not pull the trigger until a few minutes ago hoping it would go lower. However, just now, the Amazon price bounced back to a high of $304 (also the Home Depot price). Watching other WEN price wars, I learned that if Amazon stays at this price for at least one cycle, Walmart will likely bounce its price as well.

The same trend has been happening to the weaker/cheaper version of this product, the PW28. However, for $27 more, it made sense for me to go for the PW31 which pumps out 2.5GPM @ 3100PSI via a 208cc OHV engine.

Several people there say theirs wouldn't start after awhile, with a few people saying the carb goes bad, carbs leak, and electric start fails. Did you do much research?

Costco isn't an option for me anyway and I don't see this at samsclub.com. It's at walmart.com, but for $300.

Any small engine will develop carburetor problems if ethanol-free fuel isn't used and proper maintenance and storage procedures are not followed - including the Chinese Honda clone (Chonda) that is on this Wen model.

I'd take a Subaru over a Chonda any day. However the saving grace of the Chondas is that replacements can usually be found for under $100 at Harbor Freight or Northern Tool.

I'd prefer an electric one but this is still a pretty good deal.

Or sidewalk or fence or grill.

They'll take longer than a gas one due to the less GPM, but they'll still usually get the job done.

I bought a electric one because I didn't want to deal with the maint of a gas powered one
