About a month ago I came across about 10 of these at the $25 price. Saw them on Brickseek, but couldn't find them anywhere. Asked a worker and they found them locked away in a cabinet on the floor. The worker said there is no way you're getting these for $25, but thats what they rang up at and she sold them all without a problem

I thought most of these fancy calculators are not allowed on major national exams ? Even some college professors won't allow such calculators in their exams...

More and more schools are starting to ban it. I know we couldn't use these in calc 1,2,3 and differential equations class.

typically that is the case. however these are typically required for highschool.for at least a couple of years. they just go through and clear the memory and check to make sure some things arent installed that would be conducive to cheating. less of a concern in high school. so they still require them. whereas in college and beyond it just depends on teh cirrculum. i could have used it through all of my business courses no problem...

I see these for $5-$10 at yard sales all the time
Those aren't new. I'm not sure why you're making the comparison.

Only discounted at 8% of stores according to Brickseek. So a nice find for those that got one, but pretty unlikely most would be able to replicate...yet.

It's a ti83. Built like a tank and only useful for high school and for some, college.

The old models are built like a tank. The current models are cheap plastic crap with keypads that don't work properly unless you hit the keys straight on. Wouldn't take one if you gave it to me for free.
