I've had 6 foscam ip cams since 2009 and never had problem.. you gotta make sure FW is upto date and ports are properly forwarded dunno if DNS service helps but I also have that ..just my ¢.2

Sounds like user error.

I've been using Foscam cameras for a very long time and no issues getting streams outside the house.

You've got to make sure you have DDNS set up, port forwarding, etc. If you don't know what you're doing it can be tricky. But it's fairly straightforward for the most part.

Also if you have a Netgear router it can block the outbound stream (thinks it's hacking activity or something) so you have to turn that feature off (I'll look it up somewhere and post it here).

Yep same here. If you select the from other sellers and select the prime one from Foscam Direct it will take the $20,50 off but it comes to $61.49, still a good deal.

The promo code didn't work with the link provided, but worked when selecting other options from the "New(2) from $79.99". Price was $59.99, no tax added.

I wouldn't recommend Foscam to anyone who seriously want to secure their homes and rely on their security cameras. I have been using a Foscam since early 2015 and the connectivity had been terrible. If you are at home under the same WIFI with the camera, it works fine. However, if you are on mobile data or other network (ethernet, wifi, etc), 90% of the time you won't be able to connect to your camera at all. The worst record of my camera is it couldn't be connected for 3 weeks, during which I restarted, factory-reset and tried wired/wireless internet and still couldn't connect.
you either need to get something like a nest camera and pay the insane cost for the equipment and the monthly fees or get a real DVR security system

Foscam is generally low end stuff imo. It works by and large if you set it up correctly, but you do get what you pay for from a quality and picture point of view. I had some older VGA cams I replaced. Must have gone through a new power adapter at least once a year as they were total garbage and burned out all the time. And of course the cheap replacements via EBay are generally of the same quality. Do yourself a favor and buy decent cameras.

Laview and Hikvision make some decent stuff that is fairly inexpensive.

I've had Foscam cameras for a long time...most since 2012. I have a total of 6, that are on 24/7 and have been for years. The only time I've ever had an issue with them was my routers fault. The cameras themselves have been fine.
No experience with this specific model though.

I agree though that anyone who seriously wants to secure their homes should be looking elsewhere, but wifi cameras are a good option for a lot of different situations.
