Any thoughts on this? How does it stack up to others in this price range?

Configuration wise you won't find any Ultrabook that comes close to it. HP Envy is the middle tier HP product, stands between their highest end Spectre series and budget oriented pavilion series. The Build quality is pretty solid with good design and ergonomics.

Thanks for the info. In your opinion, who's the target market for Spectre? Is it purely a design / look upgrade?

Spectre is like Dell's high end XPS series which targets both Business users and high end Consumers. Apart from the configuration, Spectre series offers better build quality, higher battery life and they are very light. Also they come with 40GB/s Thunderbolt 3 ports which enables them to add multiple accessories like external GPU dock, multiple 4K mobitors, storage etc

Well, this one has one of the better Trackpad implementation, better than most Ultrabooks.

The Lenovo yoga is better and cheaper. 15 4K IPS display. 7thGen i7 Aluminum body. Fingerprint. And almost NO BEZEL, the HP has thick bezels. Lenovo has better vision on what a computer should be these days. Go to a Bestbuy and compare, if u don't believe me.

Please check the review of that Laptop before sharing a Product advertisement Video. The screen has been said as one of the worst 4K panel with poor color accuracy, washed out colors. And what is the price of that 4K model, more than $300 than this one.

I bought the 4K model from Bestbuy, I paid less than 780(open box) there was another deal in SD for 850 New from bestbuy it is in clerance.
Now it got expensive somehow. Panel is OK, the screen is too reflective, it is difficult to see on sunlight but nobody does that, but it looks super nice other wise.
Colors are OK, not that different from my Dell Precision M4800.

the HP has too much bezel, after having the yoga I see other laptops and get scared with the bezels. and again it was $850 new

You are just comparing the looks. Envy has slightly better build quality, higher capacity and faster SSD and better 4K Display. If size of the Bezel is the main deciding factor for you to buy a Laptop, then lets not discuss this any more.
And one thing, link us the laptop you are talking about.

Steep price, don't really care much for touch screen anyways.
