That's why I said to check the reviews for the gaming edition. Inspiron series covers a huge range of laptops, starting from $200 to $1500 and it covers basic budget laptops, multimedia consumption Ultrabooks, 2-in-1 series and then high end gaming ones. So saying that Inspiron is bad and don't buy it is a pretty generic statement.
Hope you understand my point. My intention was never to challenge you, just to share the actual facts.

That is not true and you are confusing normal Inspiron Multimedia laptops with the Inspiron Gaming series. The gaming series has been praised by every reviewers for the build quality at the price point. Better check the reviews before putting a generic comment.

That is a good point and honestly I didn't know that. My experience with an Inspiron only involved a cheap one with horrible build quality. I didn't realize they had such an expansive range. Good to know.

I don't recommend the Inspirons at all. The build quality is literally shit compared to the Latitude, XPS, and Precision.

Any laptop with an i5 and a 1050 graphics card for $650 is an insane deal, regardless of build quality. I wonder if you can upgrade to the 1050ti though (I know that's possible on the 7000 series).

what are the main differences in an XPS and Insspiron? Seems specs wise i could match up an xps but it would be almost double the price, is it the xps aluminum body vs a plastic on inspiron?

Thanks for the info about the gaming edition, but whether you think my comment is "generic" or not is irrelevant and I'm giving my opinion from personal use of an Inspiron.
