Editor's Notes & Price Research

  • This Watertight spinning reel performs reliably in saltwater and sand environments. The Sealed HT-100 Slammer drag system provides robust, silky-smooth drag, while friction trip ramp prevents premature bail trip when casting.
  • This Fishing Reel is highly rated with 4.5 stars out of 5 stars out of 457 customer reviews on Amazon. -slickdewmaster

Amazon has the Penn Spinfisher V reel for only $72.

These retail for $140 and have an average price of $100 on Amazon. Great deal on a fishing reel with great reviews.

great price for awesome reel that should last a lifetime. I have the Spinfisher V SSV7500LC and it is huge, be sure this is the right size before you order. This is a good size for general fishing from docks and light surf. The 7500 I bought is better for long casting live bait. I'm in for 2, thanks

So you're saying this is on the small side for Ocean/Surf fishing in general but adequate for near pier and short casting.

ok deal since amazon has tax to most states now. Cheapest would be buy from ebay and use the 20%off memorial day coupon. around $90(one listing is only $81 but seller is new) on ebay so $72 w/ coupon but no tax for me which would have $8.xx.

The 3500 is fine. The 7500 is way too big.

Ugh so tempting. I have the 6500LL and it works great on boats but a little too big for pier. May jump on the 4500 deal.

I ordered 2 x Penn Spinfisher V SSV5500 spinning reel - $80 each

Best price ever per camelcamelcamel.

Under the "Selection" drop down menu it is "0".

It's 50% off.

And the attached photo from OP is the Penn Battle not the Penn Spinfisher. Just sayin.

They're saying this is adequate for sitting on the dock or the bay, watching the tide roll away...
