What's a good deal for a 75" with hdr? I'm not in a hurry. What should I wait for?

This is the reason why I did not get the 7100 series, no HDR. I instead got the 75" 8550 2 years ago and later added the sek-3500u. Got the 75" 8550 from TigerDirect.com for less than $2300 after Discover price protection and got a brand new sek-3500u from Ebay for less than $200 to get HDR.

I have seen this TV up close and looked at it for a while. It has excellent PQ! yeah, it is an older model (2015) but it has solid review and it can take a 4k HDR signal..... The firmware was updated to do so.. The avs forum owners thread has ll the info.. 2000 grand is not a bad price it has been $2500 for a long time... It is a huge screen! Plus also has ACTIVE 3D (if anyone prefers active to passive but no more 3D made as of 17')

you lose 120hz and some other picture and color processing if you move down to a 6 series

Are you sure got HDR with that?
HDR requires a 10 bit panel which I dont think the HU8550 had..being a 2014 model

Yes, it's 10 bit. Revenant 4K and Life of Pi 4K looks amazing.

still dont think its HDR...as the standard hadnt been put in place back in 2014 and its more than a software/firmware change to make it

But anyway..it doesnt really matter

That's why I got the SEK-3500u to get HDR. Avsforum members posted how to get HDR with some slightly older Samsung LED TVs using SEK-3500u. A few of the high end slightly older Samsung models were compatible
