Depends, this is intended for indoor use only. If you only need 5 indoor cameras, this is a great deal. If you want to use some cameras outdoors, you can risk using these as they are not intended, or pay extra for the Blink XT cameras that are intended for outdoor use.

Was going to do indoor and outdoor on a second home
These cameras are half the price but are they also half the camera ?
Have regular Arlo at my house now, they are good but eat battery's
Looking for another option and saw this
Thanks

The biggest negative on the indoor ones are the night vision (it let's off a bright light). The Blink XT cameras don't have this issue. The two biggest reasons why I kept them over the Arlo was:

They trigger faster. Not sure if this has been addressed with the Arlos yet. I would get alerts with the Arlo and the person was already walking away. I definitely dont have this issue with the Blink cameras. They trigger fast

Battery life is also better on the Blink (Batteries are not chargeable though).

I went with the 3 camera Blink system for inside, and we are currently waiting on two XT cameras from them for outside.

Was debating picking this up or wait for the new hub to be released which I think will have battery backup. I also want inside and outside cameras. Supposed to have door sensors and alarm siren coming too.

Any idea when the XT should be released to new buyers?

Does this or the XT have two way audio aka a speakerphone so the person you are seeing can hear you speak to them? I see in the description it has a microphone.

I had the 4 camera Arlo Pro system and although they had very nice features the blink cameras put them to shame. They are more reliable and the sync module does not require an Ethernet connection like the Arlo.

Also the Arlo account/base station only allows 5 cameras before you have to pay additional fees. I know have two blink XT's outside and two regular ones inside but I plan to add three more cameras. I also agree that the Blink trigger way faster than the Arlo/Arlo Pro.

blink is the way to go.

Thanks for your post. If there is a new generation <6 months out, I think I can wait. I like the product itself. My only concern is it being a new company. It would be nice to see a new round of investors to validate the longevity of the company.

It looks like they will have an upgrade package for existing users - . Here is what I found;

Starter Seecurity Kit ($339) for new customers includes: 1 Blink Camera, 1 Blink XT Camera, 1 Enhanced Sync Module, 1 Siren, 2 Entry Sensors and 1 Keypad.

Upgrade Seecurity Kit ($149) for existing customers includes: 1 Enhanced Sync Module, 1 Siren, 2 Entry Sensors and 1 Keypad

Most of the cameras with the synch module are not much more expensive than the single cameras (at least for the new outdoor cameras). That is what I want to add. With the cost savings here and the rumored camera add on price increase in June I actually ordered a set. I may want a siren or entry sensor. I do not want a key pad though. I am hoping they will have other bundles available.
