2017 receivers are coming out soon. Onkyo is releasing their line sometime in June.

I would wait a little longer if you can to wait for them to clearance out 2016 models.

Or $479 at Best Buy. How is this a deal?
That's a lower model at Best Buy--the RX-V681, and BB is too high on that for a closeout model.

The TSR-7810 at Costco is the relabeled RX-V781. The Costco regular price of the TSR-7810 has been $489.99, which easily beats what other vendors charge for the RX-V781.

Is this comparable to the Denon 3300?

It would be comparable, but some of the Denon X3300W's specs are a little higher, but the 3300 is also a few hundred dollars higher. Others, though, would claim that Yamaha has better reliability. A good site for such questions is the AVS forum [avsforum.com].

All things considered, I would prefer the TSR-7810, and this is an excellent price.

I ordered this a few weeks ago from costco.com and it's a beast. Fantastic receiver for the price and does pretty much all you need including dual zone control, 2 way bluetooth, Atmos, 6 total HDMI with one front connection, etc. The Yamaha AV controller app is excellent and I can control nearly everything from the phone which is handy if the logitech harmony isn't within reach.

It's an excellent deal at the costco price and if the budget is $500 for a really solid A/V receiver with all the toys this one is hard to beat.
