Is this better than the Fry's Performance MX deal for $30?

Not the same mouse and not the same price. Performance MX is an older model. This is Master MX. Though, I would get the $30 if they shipped.

I'm aware of that. After comparing the features with the price, I was wondering if this is a better deal than the Performance MX... Currently using the Performance MX and so far, I like it. Although, it would be nice to not use a USB port on the receiver though.

I haven't used the Performance MX, but here is a comparison I found from lifehacker (also includes the G502 Proteus Core in the comparison). I personally had the MX Anywhere for a few years and recently updated to the MX Master and have been very happy with it for its ergonomics, along with how you pair it with multiple PCs/laptops and easily toggle which one's active.

The MX Master, on the other hand, is a fitting upgrade to the Performance MX, but it's a pricey one. It's definitely more feature-packed, but whether those features are ones that matter to you is another story. When you look at the MX, consider whether you need Bluetooth or the option to use the mouse with multiple PCs. If the Performance MX was your perfect mouse, you might not feel like you need the MX Master's new features—but they're really nice when you have them, and once you do, you'll definitely rely on them.

I am kind of in the same boat as you. My coworker has the MX Master on his Windows laptop. I don't feel like they both the same mouse though. Shape and feel different to me. Also, there were complains about BT not working right on Mac. I plan to use this mouse on my mac so, that might be a concern for me.

My 2 cents: The Performance MX has standard AA rechargeable batteries which makes it easy to swap them out instead of plug in the mouse. The Master MX does not have a user-replaceable battery. After about 1 year of daily use, the Performance MX tends to exhibit the mouse-click problem (google it) where drag and drop becomes a problem or it double clicks. The Performance MX has a 3 year warranty which means that this issue was pretty-much covered for the first replacement. The Master MX has a 1 year warranty.

There are videos on Youtube on how to fix it but it means opening up the mouse and removing very small parts...took me about an hour and lasted for about 6-8 months before it happened again.
