Thanks for the heads up. If anyone is interested in getting a Companion Pass for the rest of 2017 and 2018, easiest way is to get the Plus and Premier and meet minimum spend. That nets you 120k miles, which passes the threshold of the 110k needed.

The Premier Business has been 60k for awhile now, so nothing exciting there.

It's roughly $1k in Southwest travel. They're usually about 1.6-1.7cpp. You can check values yourself on their website switching between cash/points when booking a flight.

Also not convertible to UR. Only redeemable on Southwest.

It used to be 24 months since you last *APPLIED* for the same promotion. I think it's still that way. On my last round of this deal (we're on our 5th & 6th years of having the Companion Pass) I had canceled one of my cards 12 months before applying, but had originally applied for the cancelled card 36 months prior. It was no problem.

nice! fiancé and I are doing the same thing. we got the companion through me, I canceled both cards, got both in her name, and we will try in my name in 2019. Smilie the 60k point signup is a no brainer.

what's the value of rapid rewards points now within their system? Am I right that they can't convert to ultimate rewards?

I might be cutting it close to the 5/24 rule, need to look it up....

what is the value of 60k rapid rewards? What will that roughly buy you?

Would much prefer Ultimate rewards if possible, since I just wait around for mistake fares, and use the chase reserve 1.5x redemption to get great value redemption. I'm assuming these points are UR or convertible to UR right?

Would also like to know this.. I doubt it though cause none of the other chase branded travel cards i.e. united earn you UR.. they're airlines own FF points.
