This is always their regular price for 1080 7700k for the past 2 months at least. It's priced right. For a K processor.

Non K processor, the expired 7700 Alienware deal is better if you don't care about overlooking.

All the sites that offer CB have gone down from 24% to ~8-10%, pretty much killing the deal for me. SD offer was extended until today, but you are getting an unclockable processor.

Of course, if you aren't going to OC then the Aurora is probably a slicker deal. One thing to note though is that the 7700k has a much higher stock clock than the 7700, so even if you don't OC it would be an improvement.

No they are not. They are at least several months away from release.

The i9 starts at 1k. Not really a comparable item. No idea what the 16 core amd will cost but it's not really the same class as this.

not the same market buying those cpus. The x299 platform is not really for gaming either even though u see "gaming" as the moniker on all those high end motherboards. Its all marketing at its finest. Vega is not coming anytime soon either and rumors pin it against the 1080 so nothing spectacular to be seen. Same story repeats itself as with polaris RX 480 .

Agreed. No solid reason to get one of those CPUs unless you are trying to get record breaking benches or maybe some heavy duty video rendering.

Anyway, the only bright side about Vega (release is poised for late July) is that it might drop prices for the GTX 10 series if it actually ends up being competitive in performance and price.

Dell uses their own motherboards and components (memory PSU etc) they manufacture in house crippled by them and tailored to fit their systems. I don't own this unit but my guess is that msi is using some off the shelf components which would be a much better choice and definitely worth the price premium especially for those who like to tinker with/ upgrade their systems. the only way to know for sure though is to find a teardown of this unit.
