For those pulling the drives, I believe this is 2x4TBWD, unlike the 1x8TB easystore drive...

EDIT: Never mind, mentioned below 1 drive.

In the comparison table below description in the page it clearly states - single drive.

As tempted as I am I read those same reviews and got a handful of these last time and ended up with blues : /. So I wouldn't expect reds if you are counting on them to anyone purchasing haha. If you want guaranteed reds get the 16TB duo when the price comes down here and there.

So, what is the difference between the 8TB My Book drives vs the 8TB easystore drives (actual internal drive)?

FYI (not sure if it is true or not): "The WD80EZZX with white Label in e.g. the MyCloud 8TB is NOT a WD Red (that are WD80EFZX). The german NAS-Support told me yesterday, that it is a WD Green (what is going to become the WD Blue series).
WD Red HDDs are only build into the NAS-boxes, that are intended to be opened by the user (e.g. MyCloud Mirror), but not in the single drive boxes."

From: https://community.wd.com/t/new-8t...x/154922/6

With that being said, my easystores were 8TB Red, so I don't know who to believe! Smilie

Will green or red be more reliable?

The EasyStores generally have the Reds, the MyBooks generally do not (luck of the draw)

I have 4x of these and I just shucked them two days ago. it's all WD80EZZX. supposedly the helium 8tbs. they're not reds for sure.

also a note, I couldn't boot my hp z420 with these drives until I realize it's cause they're formated to exfat from factory and it wouldn't boot in my windows 10 SSD server. I hotswapped them in after my system booted to Windows and I reformated them all to ntfs and now no issues with booting.

I got 4x these mybooks from bhphotovideo and I also have 2 easystore(WD reds). building a hp z420 NAS.
