New Verizon Unlimited Talk and Text Prepaid Plans - 3GB/$40, 7GB/$50, 10GB/$60 - Plus $100 Bill Credit when porting number

Starts on June 6th. Verizon is still serious about staying competitive in the prepaid market. We get an extra GB at $40, 2 extra GB at $50, and the 10 GB plan becomes $10 cheaper. Still able to have Carry Over data when your account stays current and you are on auto pay. You do keep Mobile Hotspot BUT you lose the HD video streaming. Streams at 480p instead. Not sure how this affects those with plans on WalMart sim cards but really good news for those who didn't or weren't unable to replicate that deal.

Added thanks to SlickLulz: Get a $100 bill credit (after 2nd payment) when porting number to Verizon Prepaid

Edit: Video streaming IS downgraded from HD to 480p, similar to their Unlimited prepaid plan.

link also mentions a $100 credit for porting in a new number if you do it at a Verizon store.

Verizon PP is getting better, but ATT Gophone is still beating them with the 6GB plan at $40/mo with autopay. The network may not have the same total coverage, but it's still better than the others.

Tax is not included last time i did Verizon pp. Tax was around $8 but this depends on a variety of factors.

The problem with Verizon is they want the big money. Instead of lowering the 2GB plan by $10 they throw you a bone. Pathetic.

Either the price needs to go down or the data allotment needs to go up, or some combo. Gophone's still better for most people.

$100 credit could make it worthwhile though, especially for people with use little data.

The T-Mobile Walmart prepaid $30 for unlimited data (5GB 4G speed) from last year has been the best PP I have seen by far. It's no longer available though. It'a shame that the cost has been going up instead of down.

I always wonder, who talks on the phone to their cell phone customer service? I always see people of various carriers talk about their customer service but I bet I haven't had to call mine but once in the last 10 years. Especially PP.

I have VZW prepaid, not 2 months ago I switched off my old plan of $45/month which was 2gb +1 if you auto payed. They had a $40/month plan that was just 2gb but was vague about the +1 but apparently I didn't get. They would roll a month of data over and I use little data, almost always on wifi. Anyway, here I am a couple of month later and going to switch plans again, essentially back to what I had before with the better price. With rollover I should quickly have 6GB built up in my account

Edited to add, my other taxes and fees amount to about $3

Yes. Tax works out to <$4 on the $50 plan, for me. YMMV
