Phillips Hue 2nd Gen LightStrip Plus (Refurbished) No Tape $49.49 Free S&H

Groupon.com [groupon.com] has the Phillips Hue 2nd Gen LightStrip Plus (Refurbished) but with no tape for $54.99 - $5.50 with promo code 'Sale3'. Typical retail is $89.99 and the gen 2 lightstrip (non-refurbished) deals are not often found below $70.

Make note that a Hue Bridge is required to use LightStrip, which is not included.

The number one complaint about these LightStrips have been the adhesive tape which the refurbished does not include, reviews have suggested using gorrilla tape or something similar.

LOL, that tape is a joke anyway, I've got like 4 sets of Gen 2 Striplights and I've had to remount all of them with 3M double sided tape. So if it's clean and doesn't have gross hair on it, then it's a deal :-D

Totally agree. I just put a small dot of superglue in a few places for mine.

One of the leds is out on about half of one of the refurbished strips I bought last time they were on sale. I don't know a ton about them but it looks like there are 3 lights that change hues to make different colors so on that half of the strip any color I select that uses that particular led doesn't match the other half.

I am using two of these that I purchased at $45 a few months ago (also refurbished). they're absolutely great. don't sweat the lack of adhesive; it's worthless anyway - personally I use 3M Velcro tape.

only advice about these in general is that you should plan to use them as indirect light or backlighting, or have an idea to diffuse them.
