$99 bucks for a brushless drill? Seems like a no-brainer.

this has been $99 at HD and other online places. It's a decent drill but it has a plastic chuck and plastic gear collar. it's not the nice DeWalt you may think you're getting.

Exactly. I tried and it and decided to keep my 18V LiIon with a metal Jacobs chuck.

I paid $76 for mine from ebay. I must say it's pretty good for a cheap brushless drill.

This is DeWalt's budget brushless line, not near the quality of the more commercially focused XR Brushless line. Is it better than their low-cost brushed designs? For the most part yes. That being said, it still doesn't have the efficiency or power of the XR brushless line, it also doesn't have the metal chuck and other more robust (and costly) internal mechanisms that the XR line has. Overall this is an OK deal, not an amazing deal in my opinion, especially when the refurb XR kit with the drill, impact and two larger XR batteries was only $40 more a couple days ago.

I'm not naive enough to think that this is better than some of the premium product out there but its certainly better than the DCD771C2 that they put out in the market the last few years. I don't expect to be able to use it all day everyday but a dewalt 20v brushless drill with two batteries at $99? I'm still struggling to see the downside

pretty sure its normal price dewalt is jus switching almost every tool to brushless as its becoming the new standard still there new bottom end drill thats meant to be comparable to ryobi and other cheap brands

and dewalt has always been fair with their pricing as a new model of something takes the same price point as b4 instead of raising prices as something new always comes out. only time price goes up is when the new tool is meant for a bigger more demanding task

For those of you complaining about the plastic chuck, they sell a metal replacement chuck Amazon has it for $27 DeWalt 1/2" 330075-91 1.5-13MM Keyless Drill Chuck https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009L32MHG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_PrdozbC4R70DQ.
