Be careful buying a PC from Costco because of their extended warranty. I did that and the fan making a loud grinding noise on my laptop. They wouldn't even talk to me until I let them do a factory reset for Windows on the machine!! I said how the heck is that supposed to fix a bad fan and now I have to take the next two days doing nothing but reinstalling everything! They said they know it's silly, but they don't care and it's "policy" that they won't even discuss it with you until you have let them do that to your machine. What a joke! I'll never buy another computer from Costco as long as I live! What a waste of money thinking I was partly paying for extra support (and good support)!

Maybe get some backup software and create an image of your HDD, then save to external...

Still such a HUGE waste of time and money for such an incredibly silly reason! The lady at Costco came right out and told me they make it as difficult as possible so people find other ways to get their computers fixed! Some service.

It does not take more than 30 minutes to back up and 30 minutes to restore.

Using what method, technique, etc? The machine has 1.25 TB between SSD and spinning drive and it takes WAY longer than that to do a full backup using anything I'm aware of. If you are ware of something else, please provide links and other information. (And no, just backing up your "My Documents" folder is not what I'm talking about -- I'm talking a full image backup of the whole machine.)
