this is why I prefer OralB. Sonicare products have batteries that will die in about 3 years by design. Happened to my Airfloss as well as the Sonicare kids model. Meanwhile my Oral B toothbrush still goes strong after 5 years. Replacement brush heads are cheaper than Sonicare as well.

Yes... precisely. These brushes tend to last about 2 to 2.5 years before the handles start to leak and short out causing the brush to spazz out and turn on and off on its own. They work significantly better than a regular brush and help prevent excessive abuse to your gums. It's well worth it to spend the extra money on a good brush like this if it saves you any dental work at all in your life. You still need to floss though..... so don't skimp on that.

They really get you with the cost of replacement heads for these things. The cost of replacement heads over the life of one of these handles adds about another 50% to the cost of the brush itself over 2.5 years.

Great deal if you have a Kohl's Card. I don't but I'm tempted to bite at $144 after code SUN20, plus the $20 in Kohl's cash and $30 rebate...

Since Diamondclean Smart is coming out soon, it might be wise to wait for its release even if you still want a regular Diamondclean. Current price is still pretty good so go with a consideration what and when you need.

I have this toothbrush. If you have the money it's great. I've had the Sonicare Essence in the past and I would definitely recommend that one for people who've never owned a sonic toothbrush before. For anyone considering the upgrade, it comes down to if you can stomach spending almost $100 on a toothbrush.

There are some awesome deals on ebay for these if you already have a charger and just need a replacement of the main device. My wife and I had diamondcleans for about 2.5 years which both broke down. I got two replacements of the main system for $90 each from a seller that sells them brand new. They work perfectly (have had them for a few months) and were clearly brand new. They even have a warranty of (I think) 2.5 years if you register online. Might be 1.5 years - I don't recall.
