Treating the symptom rather than the problem. You shouldn't be mouth breathing while sleeping, it is not good for you.

Technically, it is claiming to treat the problem. The reason people snore is because the tongue relaxes and slips back and blocks the airway. This is what they're claiming to address. Not that I believe it actually works. It's got all the hallmarks of a scam.

SWMBO used to routinely snore so loud that I was afraid plaster would fall off the ceiling. She bought a foam wedge pillow and it's cured her.

You should be breathing through your nose rather than your mouth while sleeping. Really during most daily functions. Mouth breathing itself is actually a problem. The nose is made to filter and condition air before it enters your lungs, in fact there are physiological processes that actually make it easier for your lungs to extract oxygen from air inhaled through the nostrils rather than the mouth. Peer reviewed research backs this.

This is coming from someone who was once an elite athlete and began snoring with some added body weight, taught myself to breath through my nose again to prevent it, and eventually lost weight which also helped tremendously. Just my 2 cents, though.

Mouth breathing also causes tons of other problems such as dry mouth which leads to poor oral health, halitosis, etc.

A total ripoff, and potentially dangerous, since if your snoring is that bad, it's best to determine the cause, and not just assume. If sleep apnea, this is the worst thing to use.

Definitely get checked for sleep apnea. I had a coworker die of it before he was 45.

Agree - I think weight is #1. In my limited observations, second would be something like an overbite (jaw closer to throat/making airway smaller). People with a longer nose or smaller nostrils (more restrictive) will also have an easier pathway for air through the mouth.

There are multiple potential causes, and ways of improving airflow. Being in shape (not just weight) can help drastically, and one of the easier things to change.

Best commercials out there. I record them and loop it while my kids sleep. I love it when they talk now.

This is along the lines of what I was getting at. Just stopping the snoring is not going to treat the underlying cause.
