if anyone has personal exp with this model please comment. Fakespot gives this a c on their site for the amazon page. Also the first question/answer is about the fake reviews. The answer returned theirs and claims they would call amazon to complain about the fake reviews influencing their purchase decisions.

The air fryer stuff is a fad right now and all these seemingly unknown brands are around (as in probably cheap knockoffs charging more than they ever should). I am highly considering just sticking with a electric convection oven but just amping up heat to the highest and turning the convection mode on to see if I can produce the same results. Many comments on all these 'air fryers' state they returned because the results were the same as their convection oven.

I agree but there isn't really a single "state of the art" or "top brand" that others would be trying to copy. The Philips XL is the original trend setting products that has been around for a while and viewed favorably. One feature of it I did not like is that it is "closed". This one is open, see through. Air fryers like most small appliances are commodities, you can order them from China by the thousand and brand them with any corporate logo you like. Some seem to have a traditional heating element and the one in this post has a halogen lamp. Either way, if you have realistic expectations about a small kitchen appliance you are pretty safe. Just don;t look at it as a miracle one touch do it all device.

I purchased the one from Walmart less that two weeks ago posted on here and the teflon started chipping. Today I received the Philips Airfryer ($90 refurbished on amazon, reg $171.). Its a big difference between the knock offs and Philips. I picked up the white, but a black is still listed

https://www.amazon.com/Philips-Vi...s+airfryer

Search around there, because I think you might find a couple listed at that price.
