So, let's see how this will break down.

Tax on original price, right? Not the sale price?
Also $35 Activation Fee?

So, maybe $70 (35 activation fee and about 35 tax) on top of $144 which makes it $214. Would another $80 be worth it for the G5 Plus or are the modular attachments on the Z line worth using that $80 in savings for one of those attachments?

I'm stuck between the 2 phones also G5 plus vs Moto Z play, but I really miss the NFC on my current Moto G4 that I had on my Nexus 4. I know the Z2 is coming out next month, so it is possible the current Z phones may get a lower clearance type price.

It was $200 refurb on best buy a few weeks back. Maybe they'll do it again. You want to go with the Z Play so you have Android Pay and access to Moto Mods. Unless camera is more important than those two, than go to G5 Plus.

Do you think I can buy this for my mother-in-law, who has 2 months left on a basic phone contract, pay it off, then use it without a data plan?

The phone will require a sim to work and Verizon will detect the phone as a smart phone so it will not work on a basic phone plan

Seems like an okay price if I'm right? It's a $300 phone maybe?

Can someone explain me difference between these 3:

Z Force Droid and Z Droid are almost the exact same specs. The Z Force has a bigger battery, a 21 MP camera VS 16 MP, and what they refer to as shattershield. Basically, they claim the front glass is shatter proof.

The Play version is considerably cut down from the other two. But, it isn't a slouch by any means.

The Play has the best battery of the three, but is otherwise dumbed down. http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.p...hone3=8310

For the record, I got this the other day and since I'm not a gamer on my phone, it has enough power to do anything I want. Excellent battery life.

Anyone bought this? Is it the same as last time where you can't pay off for 14 days?

It was many months ago and has not been repeated.
