It can be had for 80 on Amazon so don't go by retail. All Walmart near me are at 79 so not a deal but I guess 40 is good.

no battery and no remote. bought one and returned at $50. I connected with my tv using aux and realize that tv remotes won't control the volume for audio out. it's has no optical input. however sound quality was great. so if you are looking big side speaker with BT/WIFI, it's great.

brick seek showed 2 at my local Walmart, but unfortunately got there and all they had was 1 w100 model for $40. so it's apparently in their system wrong.

Main downside that I've heard is that you have to plug it in. Pretty silly way to design an otherwise good wireless speaker.

I bought one wouldn't get pass initial startup so I couldn't even pair. These aren't even worth it cheap on amazon also. And if you plan on trying to use this as a whole house with multiple speakers. Don't even bother. It's not intuitive.

I picked one up for $40 a couple of days ago. The sound quality is decent. It is a pain to get out of "Wi-Fi mode" once it turns on, and it has to be plugged in, but other than that, it is a decent speaker for $40.

I got a L and a M, Walmart in Lake Zurich, IL still had one L and 2 M. Great deal! Wifi has been a tad wonky in my 2 min of playing with it, but the bluetooth and mini cable connection has been great.

you would need to wait for the wireless blinking light to wait until it becomes white, and then press the source button to switch to BT. yes it was a long wait for me too...

Saw one of these at Walmart when looking for the Samsung speaker deal (missed out on that one). Wanted a speaker for my home office. I hadn't read this thread so wasn't aware of the deal but it looked intriguing hiding in a far corner of the Walmart electronics department. It was so well hidden back there away from the other speakers that I almost missed it. Probably why it was still there. Reading the box, I could tell it didn't have a battery, remote, wasn't water proof, etc. In short, I wasn't expecting it to be what it wasn't. I mostly cared that it sounded good. Also I recently signed up for Spotify premium so support for that was a plus. So far I'm very happy. It was easy, for me anyway, to set up. There was a little snafu with the Android app finding the unit but was addressed in the setup guide. It sounds great, Spotify works great, and my phone doubles as a handy remote so I was able to push the unit to the back of a desk shelf without worrying about having to reach out to change tracks or adjust volume. Also, unlike the Samsung (according to what I read), the Hitachi has a line in jack which can come in handy at times even though I'm not using it yet. And the form factor actually worked or better for my use case. Sometimes you get lucky and that's how I feel about this. Obviously not for everyone but fits what I was looking for at a very good price.

*Update - Just found the allplay app sees my plex server so I can play the tunes I have on there. And found an allplay music app in the play store that it's actually tunein radio so I can get to all those internet radio stations. These depend on my phone but that's OK as it's always with me. Maybe I'll dedicate an old phone or tablet to this though so others can enjoy it if I'm gone.

I had a problem connecting but the setup instructions addressed the issue. Not ideal but it worked.

My understanding is these are a Walmart exclusive and the ones on Amazon were purchased from Walmart at clearance pricing and being resold on Amazon for double or more the Walmart clearance price.
