WIKI POST: PLEASE READ ALL The Contents Below Before Proceeding.

Update:
~7/15/18. the 10 gb hot spot feature has been removed for new sign ups and in no way can it be added. (not a lower amount, not even for an additional fee)

~1/1/19. sprint may offer u sprint drive promotion or free ipad promotion. do not accept. there are monthly fees.
___________________________________________________

Promo Status: Limited time promotion and can end anytime. Please click the Sprint link in the front page post for phone eligibility, terms of service & FAQ's

The most current list of eligible phones can be found here, but not limited to it: https://community.sprint.com/t5/P...-p/1020211
Tablets [or ipad or iwatch] of any kind are not allowed.
Again NO Tablets, ipad or iwatch allowed.
Most Sprint phones will also be eligible. Please check your phones eligibility at this link: https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...hop:030918
Important note: Because of their age these phones will no longer be able to activate on the Sprint network after April 30, 2019. See macrokelvin's post here.

Note 0:
-There is no contract. If u dont like service, you can port out anytime.
-Best strategy is before u ever call sprint, have your own eligible phone, the specific sim card for that phone, a number to port in from a non sprint "family of providers"[basically a sprint competitor] {it can be pre paid, post paid, from google voice, number barn, freedom pop}. {keep reading on how to get this done}
-While the line will be free [with auto pay], the tax+fees will be ~$4 each line (depending on where u live could be higher or lower).
- Depending on your credit history, most people will be eligible for 5 lines [the one SSN is good for all 5 lines]. They can be added all at once or u can add 1 line, see if u like service, and then add the others at a later time. Each line must be ported in and must be added by calling 866-782-8777 .
-Any additional line added will have the same terms (end date) as the original 1st line. (example: u created account in july 2018. 1 Y Free promo expires in july 2019. if u add a line in dec 2018, that line too expires in July 2019). Each and every number (first , 2nd or last) has to be ported in from a non sprint (or non sprint mvno) carrier.

Note 1: Promotion CANNOT be done in store. You must ORDER ONLINE OR OVER THE PHONE @ 866-782-8777. BE SURE to ask for the bring your own device FREE 1 Year Plan and be sure the rep verifies it before ending your call. Do not go to a store for help & avoid having them set up your plan or make any changes!

1a: Most experts here advise to get this plan over phone and NOT online.
Several reasons: (No activation fee, and any issues that come up will be addressed right then there).
BYOD phone in is waiving the sim card shipping fee so your cost will be $2.99 plus tax. New BYOD or an existing account!
Call the dedicated # 866-782-8777. The folks there are the ones that can help u. The telesales folks are in the Philippines. In some cases, the calls get routed to a different dept which may not access to this promo. So we advised to start the conversation with something like "i want the free 1 year promotion. can u help me with that". if the answer is not a emphatic yes ...then it is suggested u hang up and call again (huca)

1b: When Calling In For This Promo, Have This Information Handy (keep reading on how to get all this ready):

1) Your Phone's IMEI #
2) Your Phone # You want to port
3) Your Account # and PIN # from where you want to port out to Sprint
4) The ICCID# of Your Sprint Sim card
Have the above for every single line you want to port if more than one.

1c: If you insist on ordering online, there will be a activation fee of $30 (which may be credited after 2 months) along with a sim card fee ($2.99 ea. and $10 shipping & handling + tax) Once you receive the SIM you MUST activate it online here at this link- https://sprint.com/activatenow

1d: If you do this online, reports are that some cashback sites offering CB with sprint. Details are____________

Note 2: For new customers only. If u are a current customer (with any other Sprint plan) , you will be considered a new customer again ONLY AFTER closing your current account for 45 days (note: there are reports of some people getting back in before the 45 days. [it is not guaranteed. but u can try, simply call the above 866 number at say day 30. explain ur current carrier is not good signal and u want to come back, it may work or it may not but doesn't hurt to try]

if u are current customer u can :

step 1 port out the number

step 2
a. wait 45 days and port back into sprint using your own social sec #. this is a bit risky as the promotion may be over before 45 days are over.

b. next day, port back into sprint but have spouse, friend, relative be account holder (new customer requirement with a social sec #). to be clear the new account holder will be the one that will sign up. they will have to provide sprint with all their information. it is as if they are signing up, ideally this new account holder will be a spouse (ie someone u trust).

keep reading for more details.

Note 3: for services like swapping in phones etc, CALL ACCOUNT SERVICES 844 665 6327. Or use chat, where a chatbot efficiently swaps devices, with no error-prone humans involved.

Note 4: This offer will work with any number coming from AT&T, T-mobile, Verizon (including their MVNO networks) and all other non-Sprint networks including bandwidth.com (Google Voice), FreedomPop, number barn and others. You must supply your current carrier's account number and pin to port into Sprint. Any eligible phone will work. The eligible phone you would like to use with Sprint does NOT have to be tied to your ported number.

Note 5: The phone reps will push the Total Equipment Protection( $15/mo.) package for your phone. Some reps will not take no for an answer. they will scare u like what happens if phone breaks or is lost etc. Do not fall for these tactics. rest assure u have options if your phone breaks or is lost etc (keep reading on how ) .best to let them add it as it can be easily removed through your online account, through chat or by calling account services.

Note 6: phones.
swap= change the current phone
upgrade= get a new device

swap:You can swap device anytime.
All that is required is that the device u are swapping to has clean esn, has Sprint brand, is paid off, no installment billing.
(ie ebay, craigs list, older phone from a friend etc).
if u go to apple or best buy and buy a phone outright (full msrp, no installment billing) it is yours and u can swap it anytime.
if u go to ebay, swappa, cragslist etc and buy a 2nd hand device it is yours and u can swap it anytime.

upgrade:
u can upgrade only after 120 days & ONLY through SPRINT telesales @866-782-8777
(not through best buy, apple or any other 3rd party
[unless u pay full price as described above]).

Note 7: porting in to sprint
once u have started the port u can call sprint porting dept @ 866-437-1818 to get status of port & maybe have port completed in as soon as 5 minutes.

Note 8: porting out of sprint
if u hate the service best to cancel via porting out of sprint.
that will cancel the account.
if u go this route, u must port out every number to have account completely cancelled.
if u have more than 1 line, then porting out 1 line will not effect the others.
if u dont care about number, port out to h20 and let number die.
h20 sim are pretty inexpensive on amazon.
order now as it is good to have h20 sim on hand for future use.

Note 9: For people experiencing bad coverage or slow LTE download speed, consider swapping to a native Sprint-branded phone. Sprint has 3 LTE bands, 25 (main band, 1900MHz g block), 26 (2700MHz) and 41 (2500MHz, LTE Plus band, @highest speed). Check your phone LTE bands: for example, Verizon iPhone 5s only supports band #25. Verizon iPhone 6 supports 25 & 26, but lacks 41; iPhone 6s (all models) and iPhone 7 (Verizon and Sprint) support all three bands

Note 10: Question: I just signed up but my confirmation says 'FREE Unlimited data, talk and text until 9/30/19' What gives?
Answer: Because Sprint forgot to update the date when the offer was extended twice. The expiration date will be ~ 1 year from when u sign up. You can verify it at Dashboard / Manage Plan / See Details or in the My Sprint app.

Note 11: Sprint SIM cards.
a. You MUST have the correct sim for your phone. Keep reading below sim section on how to find your correct sim
b. there are a few ways to get a sim.
i. You can try Apple Stores (sometimes they will give u free sim)
(tip: sims at apple store can be used for both apple & android phones...keep reading to find out how)
ii. u can try Sprint corporate stores.(some times they will give u free sim)
iii.u can try best buy.
c. Sprint sims can be re used. they do not have any personal info on them.
d. Sprint sim are not like others (ATT, TM, etc). You cannot simply swap sims on phones. You must contact Sprint and let them know you are going to swap phones & then provide Sprint the imei of new phone.
e. Sprint Corporate stores will give out free SIM cards for existing Sprint customers. Useful if you want to avoid paying for a second SIM card for an additional BYOD line. You may need to bring the device to the store with you. YMMV

Note 12: if u fail credit check or are told u need to wait 60 days or anything credit related. Consider calling the Credit Dept direct at 800-639-6116 and explain . They are often able to help.

Note 13: Check if your phone is eligible. Go here [sprint.com] . Enter the imei of phone in question. Enter a cell number of a friend, coworker, family member etc. that you know is on something other than Sprint family (like Verizon , att, tmobile etc). Note the results. Again u r just checking if the phone status, not actually signing up at this point.

Note 14: as a last resort, should things go really , really, REALLY bad.
Contact marci@sprint.com (Sprint Senior VP Marci Carris) Include as much details you can. She may be able to help you.

Still not convinced?

well done on reading this far.
here is a way "try" out Sprint service
requires a bit of legwork, but has relatively low cost and more importantly does not risk your "main number/line/carrier" (in case Sprint is not good service for you)

in a nutshell.
dont do anything to u r main line ...yet

STEP 1..get a phone from ebay (suggestion=Lg g5 =best bang/buck.)
used/like new for ~$75
(preferably from a seller who accepts returns for 30 days)

STEP 2. get a Sprint sim card for the lg g5 (or what every phone u get)

STEP 3. get a Google Voice # (GV#) to port. pay $3 to port it (keep reading on how).

STEP 4. get a h20 sim (used to port away the temp GV#)

STEP 5. IF U HAVE DONE THE ABOVE steps, NOW IS when u contact Sprint and sign up for free 1 year plan by calling 866-782-8777

try service for ~ 1 week

A.
if u like service, move ur real line over.
once that is done, cancel the GV # by porting to h20.
done

B.
if u dont like S service port out the GV# to H20
(effectively cancelling Sprint service)
send phone back to ebay seller or sell on CL or whatever
do all this in 30 days
done

important:
1. to minimize headache, get the most compatible Sprint phone,
it is suggested to get a sprint branded phone
2. make sure u get the right sim card for that phone

total cost $3

Wiki FAQ's

1: How can you get a 2nd year free?

since is for new customers u must port out the number.

step 1 port out the number

step 2
a. wait 45 days and port back into sprint using your own social sec #. this is a bit risky as the promotion may be over before 45 days are over.

b. next day (or 15-20 minutes later when the Check your Eligibility [sprint.com] page says Eligible), port back into sprint but have spouse, friend , relative be account holder (new customer requirement with a social sec #). to be clear the new account holder will be the one that will sign up. they will have to provide sprint with all their information. it is as if they are signing up, ideally this new account holder will be a spouse (ie someone u trust).

(You can Re-use your old Sprint SIM when porting back in, but you have to call the 866-782-8777 number to port).

below are details for step 1.

Order the cheap digital T-Mobile SIM Card from eBay

this or similar [ebay.com]
OR
Pick up a $0.99 or $1 Net10 BYOD sim card kit (other MVNO's might also work) from amazon, walmart, bestbuy, etc. The t-mobile compatible sim works for the online port.

Easiest T-mobile porting method: With t-mobile sim in hand (digital or physical) you can use this link. [t-mobile.com]The cost for the pay as you go plan is $3+tax. All done online and final confirmation page will show your account number. Use pin number that you created in the process. (Note: You don't have to enter your IMEI number-just skip that) Ports usually complete within 5 minutes.

For porting multiple numbers from Sprint to Tmobile, using digital sims and on-line porting link above, at least two people had to port one line at a time (you have to go through the entire port to confirmation page, then create a Tmobile account or use different e-mail for next number). Adding more than one line caused the "Use your existing number" button to be greyed out, only allowing you to create a new number.

online option (one users experience):
The last two times I have called, the CSR said the new system requires funding upon activation. Today, he told me that up front before taking any information. I had a lot of trouble understanding him, so hung up and used the online link. The $3 plan is a little buried, so make sure to click on PAYGO. Also note the account number on the confirmation page after you pay. The account number is different than the phone number or 1+ the phone number. The email I received did not have the account number, so I was glad I still had the confirmation page open.

The online system has you set up a 4-digit PIN for account security, which is the same PIN for porting back to Sprint.

[methods below were historically suggested, but a few users reported problems with getting account number now from tmobile].

Latest post (includes T mobile porting method)

....and a few follow up comments ....
- Account #1+sprint number you ported in (or assigned new Tmobile number if not porting in).
- Pin setup during call with tmobile to activate card.
- As soon as the imei number on the sprint site showed it was eligible, I called Sprint to add the line to the new account. As edog11 said, you add a 1 to your phone number as the t-mobile account number. The thought or porting and reporting is overwhelming, but it's worth it in my opinion. I moved 5 lines.
- The digital delivery method eased my concern. It's only "digital" because you get the ICCID (sim id) via message (from ebay seller). You don't need to physically put the sim in your phone to port your number.
- Once ported out of TMobile to Spint, the digital TMobile SIM # may be reused! Ported out my first line a month ago. Just ported out a 2nd line from Sprint to TM using the same TM SIM # as before. In fact, just re-checked the TM SIM two days after porting in to Sprint and TM says it's ready to be used!

--$$$ T-MOBILE SIM Can be reused immediately once after porting from T-Mobile to Sprint. $$$$
While on the phone with the T-Mobile representative, be sure to create and write down a six digit PIN and verify your account number for your T-Mobile account. You will need this information during the porting process to Sprint.

2: Where can i get a number to port?

one good option is Google Voice

be sure to get a phone number from major city that has good Sprint coverage or u will get rare message "phone number not portable" you can check on the sprint map

Go to https://www.google.com/voice/b/0/unlock and unlock your Google Voice number, which will cost $3 and is payable online by card
Set a voicemail pin here https://www.google.com/voice/b/0#...ilsettings - you will need this pin in order to finish the porting
You account number will be your 10 digit phone number and the PIN is your voicemail pin that you'll set. In case you are activating over phone, tell the associate your existing provider is bandwidth.com.
https://support.google.com/voice/...67#xferout

If you've never set your pin or if you want to try to change it, this worked for me.
Change your PIN
On your computer, open Google Voice.
At the top left, open Menu Menu and then Legacy Google Voice. Google Voice will look different, but you're in the right place.
At the top right, click Settings Settings and then Settings.
Click the "Voicemail & Text" tab.
Next to "Voicemail PIN," enter and confirm your new PIN.
At the bottom, click Save changes.

If the gaining carrier is requesting the zip code: use 94043
If the gaining carrier is requesting an address then you need to use the full street address:
1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043

PORT STATUS AND COMPLETION INFO:
Google Voice seemed stuck in porting limbo for over a day. Found this link which gave status and aid to call in. 5min later its ported and activated
https://shop2.sprint.com/en/wlnp/check.shtml
Call: 866-437-1818
** Google Voice (bandwidth.com) is considered a landline phone provider, and may take up to 3 days to port. If you call the # above, they will do it right away for you.

numberbarn is another good option.

https://www.numberbarn.com. This site has a pretty useful search function if you want a specific number/match a text phrase. It starts as low as $5 for a number and the porting info is available immediately after activation. NumberBarn's numbers are classified as "wireline" or landline. You can locate the account information for porting under the options tab. I was able to use my NumberBarn number to check my Sprint eligibility. I am still waiting on my SIM and haven't completed a port.

NumberBarn would also be a good place to port/park a number to if you need to recycle.

3: Why is my IMEI coming up as ineligible when it's on the eligible list?

Errors such as this: "Sorry, but our records show you still owe Sprint for this device." are signs that your IMEI is currently or has been previously on a sprint MVNO (such as Tello, Ting, Twigby and others). Your phone must not be currently active on a sprint MVNO (if it is, then port out) AND you must make it eligible for Sprint postpaid by having the previous MVNO change the phones IMEI from prepaid(PLBL) to postpaid(SPCS). If they refuse to do it then you can contact sprint. You can see if TeleSales (wiki note 1) will do it or otherwise post in Sprint Community Forum [sprint.com]and they will do it (find any reasonable thread there or start a new one and they will get back to you privately, normally inside a working day now) Thanks to Comintel and edog for these and other suggestions.

Caveat - Per this post from comintel (and my own experience), Virgin Mobile users do NOT have to worry about this flag issue:
... people who are calling Virgin an MVNO, it is actually not an MVNO, but rather, a prepaid division of Sprint itself. As such, they look after these things themselves properly. Actually they do not even use the MVNO flag, they have Virgin flags of their own. This I believe applies to Boost phones as well. You can contact those divisions to make your phone eligible for postpaid use.

If going from Virgin Mobile or Boost to Sprint; do I have to use someone else's SSN? No you do not. Although Virgin and Boost are part of Sprint, their customer accounts are separate from Sprint Postpaid accounts.

NOTE TO ALL: Any older Sprint smartphone can work as long as it has a SIM card, has LTE compatibility and isn't a WiMAX device, and isn't blacklisted. I've been able to help add over a dozen phones for free for other people and have activated older phones such as the LG G3, G4, G5, and older Samsung Galaxy S4, and many more. The preferred list is only shown to lure the people who already have high-powered smartphones over or back to Sprint to gain more traction but it doesn't mean your older Sprint phone isn't compatible with their free year of service. My own LG G5 gets perfect reception even though it's unlisted and had no problems whatsoever getting it activated.

4: My phone is/was on Project Fi (Google). What can i do to make it work on this promo?

AFTER removing your phone from Fi (port out or cancel), you have to call them and ask them to deregister the phone or rather make it available for Sprint postpaid use. Because Sprint is part of the Fi network it looks like the phone is already active on there. Takes 24-48 hours to happen once you open a ticket by calling 1-844-TALK-2FI.
Note: When I called, the CSR did not understand when I asked about "deregistering" my phone. Probably the most efficient way to go about this is to explain that you are trying to switch to Sprint and need to be removed from the Project fi list or whatever. My case had to be elevated to a higher up CSR/tech, and after a brief hold, I was told it was taken care of. I was then able to pass go on the sprint IMEI checker.

5: What if I am told to go to a sprint store for ID verification?

Some people might run into a problem with online/phone credit check in which case you'll have to go to a local corporate store for ID verification and then call to activate service over the phone (don't sign up for service in store): IMPORTANT TO READ THE INFO IN THESE LINKS

6: How can I find out if I was placed on the correct plan?

You can download the My Sprint app to your phone or look in your online account dashboard by clicking manage plan and then see details. OR Change plan>current plan> more info. It should look something like this:

Unlimited - Bring Your Phone
Unlimited Talk, Text, and Data.
$5/line/mo up to 5 lines. (Free with AutoPay until xxxxxx)
International Text from the US. (Plan FAQ says Sprint Global Roaming included, so also in many other countries: https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/se...aming.html)
Requires $5 per line/per month AutoPay discount.
Savings until xxxxxx; then $60/mo Line #1, $40/mo Line#2 and $30/mo each Lines 3-5 AutoPay required.

Note: You may see 50GB Mobile Hotspot. This is a holiday bonus and may end at a date not yet announced.

Also: Invoices will not show up in your account for 3-5 business days but may show sooner in the My Sprint app.

7: Will this require a hard credit pull?

Yes. All of the big 4 carriers require a full credit check.

8: I am having trouble getting data and/or voice to work properly. What can i do?

Troubleshooting Guide 1:

Your phone most likely needs to be re-provisioned. Here is a great activation guide put out by Ting. Follow CDMA activation for your particular phone. https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/se...your-phone

For many/most android phones here are first 3 steps:

1. Carrier reset
From the home screen, tap Phone.
Tap the Dialpad icon and dial ##72786#
Tap Ok.
Your phone will restart.
After it restarts, your phone automatically starts Hands-Free Activation.
After Hands-Free Activation completes, your phone is ready to be used.
Note: If the phone then runs a PRL update on its own please skip to the Profile update.

2. PRL update
Tap the Settings icon.
From the General tab, scroll to and tap System updates.
Tap Update PRL.
The phone will search and update—Once complete tap Ok.

3.Profile update
Enter Settings by tapping the icon on the home screen swipe down bar or via apps.
From the General tab, scroll to and tap System updates.
Tap Update Profile.
The phone will search and update—Once complete tap Ok

Troubleshooting Guide 2:

if you're experiencing data connectivity issues with higher-frequency Sprint LTE bands, such as 25/41, you can force it to use 26 (850MHZ) by following these instructions:
Install LTE discovery app and check which LTE band is giving you trouble.
Sprint got 25 (1900mhz), 26 (850mhz) and 41 (2500). 26 is the best for penetrating buildings and distance-wize, 25 is the next "best" and 41 is for capacity.
So, if your phone chooses 25 or 41 - try disabling them following instructions:
To get better data try to disable LTE Band 25 and 41. That forces it to use Band 26 which is giving much improved data/internet.
In some areas in can drop down to 3G but that is usually plenty good enough to use, you can even watch live IPTV sometimes, even when the phone shows as only on 3G. You normally get 4-6 Mb download and upload speeds in most areas. Not great speed but plenty useable.

1) To disable Band 25 open the phone app and try *#*#3282#*#* or ##3282## depending on the phone.
2) Select "LTE".
3) Select "Bands".
4)Tap on the menu, which on our phones is in the upper right corner and select "Edit". When it asks for the Passcode or MSL try 000000 which is the MSL on most of our phones. If that doesn't work you may need to call or chat with Sprint to get the MSL for your phones.
5) Select "Band 25 Enabled" and select "Off". Do the same for band 41.
6) Select "Done" and get out of the app and reboot the phone. It should now be using Band 26

9: When can I upgrade to a new phone on this promotion?

Upgrades for lines activated on the FREE Unlimited plan will be allowed after 120 days of service. Any upgrades prior to the 120 days will require a plan change to the Unlimited data, talk and text plan. Unfortunately, you'll lose the remaining free months in your year of free service.

10: What happens if I lose or break my own phone and don't have replacement insurance?

If the phone you bring to Sprint through the Unlimited - Bring Your Phone promotion is lost or breaks, you have options that allow you to keep your first year of free service:
** You can purchase a Sprint phone at full manufacturer's retail price, or swap out a different eligible phone although a new Sprint SIM may be required

11: What is the best way to swap an eligible phone onto an existing line?

It is suggested to go online through your Sprint dashboard and click 'activate device'. This may lead you to a chat session which will finish the procedure. There is no limit as to the amount of times you can swap phones.

12: Can we have voice and data at the same time?

Yes you can with Calling Plus available on select Android phones. With Calling PLUS, you can browse the Internet and use other apps that require data services while you are on a call. Calling PLUS includes Wi-Fi Calling, which allows you to call or message from almost anywhere you have a Wi-Fi connection. Wi-Fi Calling provides enhanced coverage in locations with limited or no mobile network coverage. Calling PLUS enables calls to automatically switch between networks as needed to keep your conversation going. For further information and setup of Calling Plus please refer to this Sprint link: https://www.sprint.com/en/support...-plus.html

13: What is VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and when is it coming to Sprint?

VoLTE will be replacing our Calling PLUS service as a much more capable platform that also supports simultaneous voice and data, over more Sprint devices with better voice quality. Before we do updates market-by-market on various devices, we are alerting Calling Plus customers so they can decide whether to continue using the feature until our VoLTE launch is complete.

VoLTE is rolling out area by area and will not cover the entire service area until mid 2019.

14: What happens if i don't use my phone for an extended period of time?

Your line could get suspended! Here is one users experience:
This happened to me and it was a ****ing headache getting them to reactivate my lines since I did not have access to the phones on the account/used placeholder IMEIs. Once I told them this, they flagged my account as "suspicious" and forced me to go to a store in order to reactivate. OFC, once I did that, they FORGOT to activate all my lines and only reactivated one, so I had to go back to the store AGAIN to reactivate the others. OFC the store employees have ABSOLUTELY NO INCENTIVE to help you since these lines give them zilch commission. So they give literally ZERO sh*ts about you. You've been warned. PM me if you need help resolving this as it took me a week. ~shinseiryuu
Another user reported having the account suspended after 21 days of not being used and flagged as past-due. A 30 minute call to *2 got the issue resolved.

15: What can I do to improve my voice and data reception?

Your Free Plan Qualifies you for a FREE Sprint Magic BOX!

Sprint Magic Box is the world's first all–wireless small cell that improves data coverage and increases download and upload speeds. This DOES NOT improve voice coverage, unless your device supports VOLTE.

This is also not available in all areas. No-go for me in 68136

Various porting notes

Tips for H20 users here:
1. Prior to porting out of H2O, you will need your account and pin number. I was hoping this was something common, but it's not.
2. Call H2O and tell them you need your account number and pin.
3. Have the last three numbers you have called/have called you ready, because, strangely, that is how they verify your account.
4. Call the Sprint number shown at the top of this thread and tell them you want to port in and give them the account and pin number from H2O.
NOTE: H2O requires that your line be active on their service for 5-7 days before they will let you port out. Also, they require you to make calls/texts before they give you your account number, so you will have to put money on your account. The minimum is $10 for the pay-as-you go plan.

To port a GoPhone, no pin code is required or some say the last 4 digits of the phone number?

rocketwidget: I had success porting my MintSim (TMobile) MVNO (Also had no issues porting from MintMobile on 6/15/18. Just need to call first to get account number. PIN is last 4 digits of your phone number ~ultimahwhat)
Alternate DP: Mine came up ineligible but the same IMEI worked with a Google Voice number (which ported successfully) on 6/22/17

Tmobile Pre-paid - had success porting it. Your account number is your 1+your phone #. You must set your 4 digit pin if you haven't either by calling or dialing #8646

FreedomPop # ported! via https://my.freedompop.com/settings/port-out-info

and I was able to request new-number https://my.freedompop.com/phone-n...new-number

Possible Solution for Moto G4 No LTE issues
I got my Moto G4 activated but can not get LTE. I saw purplesabrer's solution for Moto G4 Play but it does not work for Moto G4 as he said. Finally, I got my Moto G4 work after some tries. The key is to set the correct Sprint APN for Moto G4.

Here are my procedures:
1. Remove the Sprint SIM card and insert any GSM SIM card (T-Mobile, ATT or FreedomPop)
2. Go to Settings - More - Cellular networks - Carrier settings, you will see APN there!
3. Click APN then delete all the APNs already in the page.
4. Click the "+" button to add a Sprint APN ( APN: cinet.spcs), then save it.
5. Choose the Sprint APN and leave settings.
6. Remove the GSM SIM and insert the Sprint SIM.
7. Drink a cup of coffee then enjoy the LTE.

Moto E4/G5S data network issues

Factory unlocked Moto G5S/G5S Plus do not work with Sprint data when using IPv4 apps: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Moto...-p/3830134
Sprint versions of these phones work, as do other Moto models like G5 Plus. A solution is to ask Sprint tech support to perform "IPv6 barring" on your account, details see: https://community.sprint.com/t5/M...light/true

If you have an older Sprint Nexus 5 with an older Sprint SIM it should work with that SIM. If you don't have one, order one from Sprint, the part # is SIMGLW206R, its UPC # is 760492013536, and its SKU # is CZ2102LWR. It should be free.
Part # SIMGLW226R will also work with the Nexus 5. Its UPC # is 019962040443, and its SKU # is CZ2122LWR. This is the Sim that Sprint order customer support sends out.
The Ting database states it wont work with the Nexus 5 but it does.

If you need to talk to a real person at Sprint CS, number is 866 866 7509, wait until after it finishes asking about language, then I believe it's option 5, 5, 5, then 3. (Basically, choose "something else" every time until it asks if you want to talk to a representative. For *each* option you must WAIT until the prompt finishes reading out your options. Pushing the # while the prompt is going will not work. Pushing 0 at any point will not work and will disconnect you.

any idea why iPhone 7 (AT&T) model phone will not work with Sprint even after unlocking the phone?
Because ATT phones are GSM only when unlocked. They don't support CDMA, which is what Sprint operates through.

Thanks Sam

I see my brand new best buy moto x4 on the eligible list

I tried putting the imei number in to the checker site and it says ineligible . Is it because we haven't activated on another carrier yet?
Is it the XT1900 model? It may be locked to a carrier that you purchased it on? Is it fully paid off?

The loss of the hotspot feature is a huge loss for me. They offered me a hot spot for $10 per gb. Yikes. Not sure you could hide your tethering with a rooted phone. Risky to do if you get caught.
They don't actually care. I had been doing it for a year and nothing happed

Ok, and I assume you picked the "activate later" option, and bb didn't activate it for you on any carrier? From what I understand it has to be the android one model xt1900-1. I'm not too familiar with this so I'm sure someone here may chime in?
Also run the IMEI here at Ting and let us know what it says?

Moto x4 should be unlocked. While checking on Sprint's eligibility checker use the imei # of your X4 but this time try using a friend's phone number whom you are sure is not on Sprint or a Sprint mvno. If it comes out eligible that means your phone number is not eligible. What carrier are you using right now?

Did you choose the Activate Today (Sprint) option and pay $99? That would obviously be a perfectly understandable thing to try! However, if so, Sprint is most likely going to claim that offer does not work with this plan. I would not side with them on that, but that is most likely what they will claim. That may be misleading advertising by Best Buy and Sprint if so, and maybe you can do something about it, I would agree.

On the other hand, if you paid the full $199, then most likely there is a mixup over that that can be fixed up. Best Buy should be able to help.

Same thing happened to me in last Sunday when I requested for BYOD free plan with Sprint $99 activation for Moto G6. They clearly told free plan is not available in BB right now and BYOD with $25/month kick start plan only available for $99. I denied for $25 plan and purchased with full price. Called Sprint CC and they placed SIM Order for me and I will be getting it today evening.

So you plan on putting it on this free plan. Did you test the IMEI on the checker? Review the wiki for lots of good info.
