Just picked up this MacBook Air up for $700 at MicroCenter.

Guy in store says that sale price is through Sunday.

Seems like a pretty decent deal. Considering the 2017 "update" only bumped the processor speed to 1.8 GHZ (same generation of the 1.6 GHZ, which means it's slightly faster but the processor is from 2015). There is also a 50% bump in speed of the solid state drive in the 2017 MacBook Air.

What about what I wrote don't you agree with? I am not disagreeing with the benefits of a faster SSD. I even said the improvement was significant. Perhaps you need to re-read what was written before you start your next rant

yeah the "upgrade" to the MBA by Apple recently is a joke from a processor standpoint. the SSD bump is significant though, but honestly for what people use a MBA for it's not exactly needed. the MBA SSD is already super fast

$699 used to be the regular sale price at best buy with .edu coupon. once in 2016 you could score it got $650.

personally i am waiting for the Macbook 12" to go to $999 and then drop the $100 off .edu . i think we will be there soon since the new ones will be getting dumped on best buy soon and they need to offload current stock. the M3 is weak but it's not my main machine

How does the Price Match Guarantee apply to coupons?
Best Buy does not match competitors' coupons. Also, customers can either use a coupon or price match to a lower price, but not both. Best Buy does not allow a coupon to be used on a product that has a price match.

is SSD upgradable? I was considering to buy a mac mini forever but they haven't released an update yet and it will take forever to get a discount on those. Should have bought a mini 2 years back from Microcenter at $100 discount. On the other hand an air might be ok

Sorry, I don't agree. Fast SSD means faster computer overall. The OS boots up nearly instantly. Transfer speeds to flash drives are at high speeds. Dell's updates to the XPS 13 using faster SSD transformed the computer into a super computer.

The slower SSD of this computer will result slower overall speed, and what you pay is what you get.

Don't get it..... Why would anyone buy this with 128gb of storage?

You're immediately going to have to replace or upgrade that limited space, or just keep treating it as an email web only machine.

lol...if you don't know that by now....then stay away from Apple.

Air is terrible....at least compared to the other options from Apple.
