If you are spending this much on a miter saw, your other tooling better be good.

The only real use for this is if you are working on a job site without power. Otherwise it is much better and less expensive to have the cord model

AND even if that where the case your limited to how many batteries you have with you. This like most new tools are more hype than actual tool. I'll stick with my Hitachi C12RSH.

I'm a bit surprised to see the complaints about price here. This comes with 2 batteries and the deluxe charger. If you are already invested in flexvolt and don't need them, sell that stuff for $200 and this is a great price for a much more flexible model than the standard corded one. If not, this is basically a starter kit and you can buy bare tools for the others instead of the kits. Remember these are 6.0 ah batteries for your 20v tools also.

I agree that some tools are better corded. If you use miter saws all day, corded is better. If you use it occasionally, the price is hard to justify.

I really want to get this but I've barely used my Hitachi 10inch fixed that was 1/10th the price and have no plans to cut anything larger than a 2x6. Sad.

125 cuts in 2x8 lumber with the batteries included.... over 300 cuts with the 9.0 batteries. Doing trim work this will last you all day. I bought this and the small 7" 20 volt version and never looking back. Bye bye cords. Saw perfection.
