Free Ecobee room sensor 2-pack when you buy an ecobee3 lite, just add both to cart to see updated total!

*If you don't need the sensors, you *should* be able to return them and get a refund for the price paid on that...which basically makes this a ecobee 3 lite for $105 + tax

This was changed in March 2017:

"Yes! In the week of March 21, we will be issuing a firmware update that would enable all ecobee3 lites to pair with our wireless room sensors. This update will happen automatically. Here's where you can learn more about how room sensors can add to your comfort and savings. This upgrade will also apply to the ecobee mobile app on your iOS and Android devices, so be sure to update to the latest versions via the Apple App Store or Google Play.
To check if your thermostat has updated, go to Menu > About, then scroll down to Version. If the number does not read 3.8.0.498, please contact support. We'll be sure to push the update out to your ecobee."

I was looking at the comparison between Ecobee 3 & Ecobee 3 Lite on the official website and noticed this:
Occupancy detection
Ecobee 3: Yes; thermostat + room sensors
Ecobee 3 Lite: Yes; room sensors

Just got off their chat support, who confirmed that the Ecobee 3 Lite does not have an inbuilt occupancy sensor in the main unit. The Ecobee 3 does have an occupancy sensor built into the main unit.

This effectively means you get 2 sensors with Ecobee 3 Lite for 158 (this deal), and 2 sensors with Ecobee 3 (1 built into the main unit + 1 in the pack) for 199 (original price).

Hope this helps.

Perhaps i posted this incorrectly, the price with the 2-sensor pack is $158. are you implying that you have coupon or promo code? Also, i was not able to add an attachment to show the home depot promo picture of the details.

From the ecobee website: "The ecobee3 lite is very similar to the ecobee3, but does not include support for whole home accessories such as HRVs, Ventilators, Humidifiers, Dehumidifiers. But you still get all the other smart functions offered by the ecobee3; Wireless Sensors, Smart Home/Away, Follow Me, Smart Recovery, Schedule and Vacation settings, Home IQ, connection to Homekit/Amazon Echo/IFTTT/Smart Things and Wink, Alerts and Reminders and our Web Portal and Mobile App."

no just return it upon pickup .....the amount you see on the final screen at checkout for each item is what you are essentially paying HD, basically they are prorating the discount for you across items which makes it nicer if you want to return a portion of your order without losing the entire discount

you probably could on ebay or craigslist! I only have a 1600 sqft home but having a sensor on each side of the house would be nice to average the temps!

no im saying if folks dont need the sensors for some reason they should be able to return just that and get a refund for the price paid on that...which basically makes this a ecobee 3 lite for $105 + tax

Kind of a misleading deal... the Lite is not capable of using the sensors at all. So why would they ever bundle it!
