Just a heads up to anyone who doesn't have anything razer. You HAVE to use their synapse software. I haven't used it in a while, but I got away from razers stuff because it caused so many headaches.

No you don't. I have a deathadder and have never used that software. You can opt out.

If you want to program any features you do. Changing dpi or setting macros requires it. Just plugging it in and using it default I guess you don't, but why buy "gaming" anything if you're not going to use the features. Oh...right....

If you want to customize anything about the mouse, including the DPI (which you absolutely should be doing if you game on it), yes, you do.

That said, it's not really that bad of a software, it works well. Most people just don't like it because it does cloud syncing and needs an account.

Razer's products in general however, I can't say the same. Quality is not really that great, there are most definitely better options for the cost.
All of it is very gimmicky and "ZOMG RGB LIGHTS I WANNA BE A PRO MLG GAMER!"

If you want to take advantage of the colors and profiles. Use the app. It makes a HUGE difference and it doesn't really eat memory.

You should also get their cortex launch app. It really does help boost game speeds. Didn't think it worked until I tried it on a old old i5 laptop. It made games playable.
