Comcast 100 mbps 59.99 per month (ymmv)

-4 Deal Score

I was on a promotion for internet service with Comcast for 100 mbps speed for $49.99 per month for 12 months. Since it is expiring soon, I called their loyalty department to see if I could get the same rate for the next 12 months. I called 3 different times, but they would not continue the same rate. The best offer I got was $59.99 per month for 12 months. This is for SF Bay Area. Your results may be different.

To get to the "loyalty" department, the number I called was 800-934-6489

Must not be any competition in the Bay area. That price seems high. Is wireless an option as I think they were testing in that area?

Where I am in CT I have zero options other than Comcast unless I want DSL. Might as well sign with Netzero. I love how monopolys are completely fine in some areas.

Only 100mb service? I have double that for the same price but I am in Virginia where there are still no caps on usage.

This is what frustrates me so much in the US. In the small town where my dad lives in the UK, he has 5 different providers, and can get 1 GB service for under $40, at today's exchange rates.

That is what I want. GB for $40 but the UK dont have greedy telecoms like the US. I was once told that it only costs less then $5 a month for a cable company to provide internet...so the rest is pure profit or upgrade money..

I just called today to cancel my bloated cable package (promo ran out and price almost doubled). Ditching cable TV and just wanted internet.

After fighting through their phone robot army and getting transferred twice, the best offer I got is 100Mbps for $75/month in my area. They offered no deals, promos, or discounts of any kind. Going to 200Mbps is $90. This is with *no* extra bundled services.

I fantasize about the day someone--ANYONE--other can Comcast can bring high speed internet to the area. They have been the only game in town for 20 years.

My service area has no competition. I've been locked in this deal for 2 years. I was able to add limited basic cable and HBO Go for an extra $10. It's still is a total ripoff imo.

Same here in South Jersey. Basic HD cable with DVR box and HBO is $10 more a month than 30 MBS internet,it was the only promotion they would offer.
Only reason I went with it is because I'm too far away to get tv stations with antenna.

I have their basic cable + performance internet with blast upgrade and pay $170/month. Im ready to ditch the cable and was looking to just upgrade the internet to their xfinity gig. But wow they charge $160/month for that whereas the other fiber company (not available in my area yet) only charges $50/month.
I have no other option other than DSL.

I'm curious how everyone thinks cable company's, that employee thousands of techs, construction workers, call centers , retail locations and that's just a few of the people they employee.. They also have materials, marketing, provide health insurance, have to maintain the network & have to pay the government ect to give you free service .. It's insane 10 years ago I paid 40$ a month for shitty 1.5 mg, couldn't do anything. Now I connect at 100+ and I pay 65 $
Get a grip , I don't expect to drive a Lexus but pay for a Kia

when you have enough money to try buy another huge cable company to create a monopoly you are making huge profits
