Flirc allows you to use nearly any remote control with any device that has USB including; FireTV, XBOX 360, XBOX One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, HTPCs, Raspberry Pi, and more. You can also use the many built-in preset configurations in the Flirc software to quickly and easily configure Flirc with your remote for common applications such as XBMC/Kodi, FireTV, and Windows Media Center.

Not super experienced in creating posts so please go easy on me. Was looking for a way to add functionality to my Nexus Player after picking up the Harmony 650 at walmart for $35. Seems this will work for that. I know this isn't the cheapest price for a flirc but this is the newest model and considering that flirc hasn't been posted on Slickdeals in over a year, this might be the best going price right now. Amazon's [amazon.com]current price on the 2nd gen model is $22.95. I hope others find this useful.

Is there any additional use for this when you have a Logitech harmony smart control hub controlling your home theater (including HTPC through IR) and all the components?

Can't figure out how to actually purchase this item on the web page, there's no add to cart button or anything.

These Flirc's are great for anyone setting up a Kodi box.

The "add to cart" button is on the right, in red...

I bought one of these second generation ones and it was a pain. I really wanted to like it but I kept getting a problem with delayed key presses. It was really frustrating. The owner kept telling me to update the firmware. I did that and still had issues. I just gave up on it.

I sold a logitech keyboard and mouse once because I was getting a delayed keyboard response. Originally, I thought it was because of the 2.4ghz band but I had the issue again w/ a MS keyboard and mouse.

I'm suspecting that it isn't the wireless interference but the contact and/or electrical connection after I tried a different port that had not been in use. I think the snug fit is what's at issue. If you take the item out and then back in often and also use the item for long periods of time, there seems to be a contact issue because I also noticed this in old computers where a usb port just doesn't work. Maybe the amount of devices plugged in as well.

So, I think it's that in general and not driver or a firmware issue. Try getting a usb extension cord, male to female and see if that does the trick.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the driver if that didn't help.

Exactly what happened to me. It is sitting here gathering dust. FYI, I have the 1st gen and it has always worked fine, this.just.didn.'t.work.

what's different on gen 2? officially, I mean, is there anything other than the size of the dongle that has been improved? I can't find anything on the page about gen 1 vs gen 2.

What does this + harmony 650 allow you to do? Ditch report for nexus player / amazon fire?

It allows you to use the harmony 650 in place of the fire tv remote. No way for it to connect with the fire stick
