Isn't this cheaper on Amazon if you have prime? Is there a benefit to buying at bb instead?

Yes, but the normal (non-members) model spies on you less and allows the bootloader to be unlocked so you can update the phone with community made software after Moto abandons it (probably soon).

Interesting... Since it's better to get this over the moto 5 or 4 with Amazon offers?

I have had this phone since February. It now has Nougat on it. I got mine without the Amazon offers. Upgraded from an LG G3 that had stopped working. I've been very happy with this phone! Great price point on it. I didn't wait for the g5 because I wanted the bigger screen.

I dont see how any one would buy this at $209 before taxes where there are better deals for better phones for around the same price or even for less like the new Galaxy Note 5 that was going for $179 the other day. This should be in the $100 price range.

Nougat fixed lots of annoying issues with this phone. I am pleased with it now. Love how the fingerprint sensor turns off the screen. Got mine free from sending an amazon ads 16gb in for replacement and got a 64gb plus new in return. Im a fan of that for free. They didnt even charge me the $110 they held on my CC.

I left a Nexus 6 to go to this phone. Its smaller in size overall. Has fingerprint sensor.
Charges faster. Better signal, gets all the latest bands and data.

No compass is a major PITA for navigation, I would say that is its real downfall. I miss the wireless charging from the Nexus 6.

Is this phone $170 better than the Moto 4G Play? I got the upgraded play with 2GB RAM for $40

I'm not sure how this should be around a $100. If it did hit that price in the very near future, it would instantly sell out. Perhaps confusion between the G4 Play, standard G4, and this one? Even $150 as a price point would still make this hardware a serious hot seller.

I'm still more keen on the G5 Plus though, the chassis upgrade alone is a huge leap forward on that phone.

Just guessing, was that through one of the Verizon deals? If so, you pay for it anyway through their plans by means of subsidy. There's more than one reason Verizon service costs the most.

As a comparison, Fry's had the Moto G5 Plus 32 GB edition for $209 (unlocked, no offers) a couple days ago. Hard choice.. would probably pick the G5 Plus on account of it being a newer model. I prefer the 5.2" over the 5.5" screen for ease of using with one hand.
